The food here is quite tasty and the kids did like the new playroom and the video games. The service is ok but I don't really like having my plates taken away while I'm still having the last bite of my food.
I'm not a fan of the kids eat free nights. I have 4 kids and 2 can eat free, which is fine, but they don't get dessert with their free meals, while the two I'm paying for do get dessert. This means I'm forced to buy 2 desserts or pay for 2 desserts and not receive them. In summary, if you don't fit into the perfect 2 parent 2 children family, then the kids eat free night will lead to some inequities. I'd prefer they either give the kids a free dessert (which would cost next to nothing) or offer a kids meal which doesn't include dessert. It has put me off going again.

one of the best pubs to eat at in bendigo very busy but the food is awsome use to be the local pub and ate here many times with well priced meals in a great friendly pub service was great was all staff and the menu and cook is awsome here very enjoyable place to take the family and eat

This is a nice place to go for a meal.
The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful.
Meals are yummy, are good sizes and don't take to long to come out.

EXCELLENT customer service. I have a food allergy and the chef came out to speak to me himself to see how he could create the meal I was after without the ingredient I am allergic to. Food is delicious. BIG portions. They allowed us a drinks tab so we weren't having to go up to the bar with cash all evening. Recommended!

I did Not like this place in the least bit. I found the waitresses rude and not friendly in the least bit, the children's menu was next to nothing or nothing that tempted my kids and they ended up with a full meal that I was told they would receive a small size one like an entree size, well that's what I asked for and was told no problem I'll see if the chef will allow it, on not being told that it hadn't been approved they got a full meal and I was charged for it as well, I should have been told I think.
I ordered the crumbed chicken breast with salad and a potato and got a RAW, yes RAW chicken covered in toasted crumbed and veg with chip's, Nothing as I had ordered and did I say the chicken was RAW? on telling the waitress this she said there is no way it could possibly be and she walked off not even looking. I then went to the bar where we had ordered and told him, she was made to come back SNATCHED it from the table in a huff and took it back to the kitchen, I waited a very long time for the meal to come back out and by that time my daughter couldn't finish her's and I was Staving after watching everyone else finish there's. Mine Finally came back I then asked if she could pack it up please and I would take it with me, her reply floored me, We are not allowed to give doggy bags as they could lead to food poisoning if eaten at a latter date, I asked her again and again and then explained why as the other waitress refused to come back to the table, she still maintained it would never happen. With all of this I was shocked and went to the bar guy again and asked him for my meal to be bagged up told him the reason, he was shocked not believing me, as I paid for everything before hand he said I have no recall for the mistake that was made.

I think they are happy to serve RAW food, but not let you poison yourself by eating their food out of the place. I will Never return and have told So many ppl about what had happened, they wont go there either.

Did I mention my Chicken was RAW

When we went it was a pretty quiet night; we were one of only two tables in the bistro area. However, even so, the service was only mediocre. The waitresses were not very friendly, and when answering our questions or taking our orders, were brusque, bordering on rude.

They did not have a wide selection of desserts available, but perhaps that had more to do with the particular night we went.

Value was acceptable for a pub/hotel of this calibre.

The decor was good, well-lit and clean.

Good prices for good food. This is one of the quieter pubs in Bendigo - even though it gets busy it doesn't seem as noisy and the booths give a lot more privacy when you are enjoying your meals. Limited menu but good quality of food and welcoming waiters.

out of all the hotels in and around bendigo this is easily the best one .good old friendly local pub . never seen any trouble there , unlike most of pubs in bendigo . !the bar staff are like family , always cheerful . no pokies ringing in the back ground , great well priced meals . try it , A1
