Car dropped off the night before for a scheduled service under VW's "4 Plus Care Plan." I wasn't rung until 1.30pm to inform me of the inevitable issue - an attempt to extract $950 out of me to do the front brakes. I declined - done for $600 elsewhere.
I had an intermittent brake light failure so had asked them to look at that, stating clearly it was intermittent and not the globe which I had already replaced. Outcome: Half hours' labour charge to tell me it was the globe which was replaced. Guess what - the problem continued to occur. I took it to an auto electrician who diagnosed and FIXED an earth connector fault.
They couldn't even grease a squeaky driver's door which I had deliberately left for them to pick up. How many times would they have heard that??
Summary: useless. These care plans are just a way of getting you back to the dealer to extract further money out of you for overpriced parts and substandard service.
