Best Fish & Chip Shop
Good Service all time

Rubicon Fish Shop have excellent customer service, very friendly staff & the best fish & chips I’ve eaten. Their food is always fresh & cooked quickly. The storage of extra stock (soft drinks) at the front of the store could be covered with a few screens, so not to be an eyesore to customers, but other than that, it’s a great business with great food. Keep up the great work. 10/10

I always go to Rubicon fish shop on Good Friday (as well as other times) they have great chips and their flake is really yummy! A generous serving unlike some places.
I do find their battered items are quite oily at times but that's better then a dried out piece of fish!
Overall I would recommend this place :)

I've tried several fish and chip shops in Ballarat and this is by far the BEST.
Chips and potato cakes are thick like homemade and are so DELISH . Not oily. And they have chicken salt available too.
Staff are always lovely and friendly.
Service is efficient.
Very clean shop if you chose to eat in there.

Since moving to this side of town, I have loved visiting this fish and chip shop.
Everything is fresh, and I am such a sucker for hot chips.
Its also conveniently placed near blockbuster videos, my friday night savior!

The best fish and chips in ballarat, no rubbishy chips, all big fat ones, and good size pieces of fish. Put in a box with air holes in it, so by the time you get home they have not gone soggy.

Great fish and chip shop - They drop the fish fillets into the batter and straight into the fryer the minute you order.

They SOMETIMES (not as much now) - dip the ends of a chiko roll into the batter to prevent those burnt ends - its the only place I know that does it but my goodness does it work well.

You've got your all standard extras like burgers and souvlaki's (had a chicken souvlaki last week, very nice 5 stars) --- Then you've got chinese and even steaks on the menu... I haven't tried that side of the menu, but well worth a look.

Great cheap lunch specials advertised on the counter - place is spotless clean... one of my favourites when it comes to fish and chips - recommended!

Best quality fish and chips in Ballarat, very fast and reasonably priced.

Much better fish than many others shops in Ballarat use, it never tastes like they use old oil or poor quality ingredients.

Simple food done very well.

Great fish and chip shop.
The actual shop itself doesn't come across as well as the food goes down.... But you can't go wrong on their fish and chip pack- fish and chips with a can of coke, all for $8.

Ive also tried their lamb souvlaki which was wonderful. Superb value for money.

Approximate cost: $8

Really yummy food!! They batter all of your fish just before they cook it, so you know its fresh. Nothing is oily and you don't get that fat on the roof of your mouth! Very fresh and yum fish and chips!!
