When was your business founded?

Safehaus was founded in 2025.

What guarantees or warranties do you offer, if any?

Every Safehaus installation carries a 12-month workmanship warranty from completion. Manufacturer warranties on supplied products are passed on to you with the documentation. Both are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which can't be excluded. If something we've fitted isn't right, email or call and we'll assess it and put it right.

What is your level of experience in this line of work?

Keith has spent years buying, renovating, developing and maintaining residential property across Melbourne and Gippsland his own and his family's which is where the hands-on side comes from. Years before that he was a chartered accountant working in audit: finding what others had already signed off on. Safehaus applies that to physical security hardware and Victorian rental compliance.

What is your fee structure like? Fixed fees? Hourly rates?

Fixed published prices, not hourly rates. Our prices are on our website before you call, and every job is itemised and agreed in writing before any work starts. The initial 15-minute doorstep check is free, with no call-out fee. Made-to-measure items are quoted after measuring on the visit

What are your current prices (fixed and variable)?

Free 15-minute doorstep check. Single jobs from $195 fitted. Lock-up bundles $395 (3 items), $595 (5 items) and $745 (7 items). Anti-climb fence deterrents from $195 for the first 1.2m, then $95 per 1.2m. Security screen doors from $895 fitted, Crime Tuff from $1,195. Window screens from $365. Meter box locks $345. Vehicle theft deterrent pack $395. Two-camera package from $1,695 supplied and installed. Rental compliance: Essentials Check $195, Readiness Report $295.

What are your payment terms and conditions? Do you offer payment plans? Afterpay? Interest-free terms?

Payment on completion by direct EFT for fitted work. Made-to-order items security doors, screens, sheds are confirmed with a 50% deposit and the balance on completion. No payment plans, Afterpay or interest-free terms at this stage. No deposit is taken on the free doorstep check.

What makes you unique compared to your competitors?

Most security businesses sell one thing alarms, or cameras, or doors so that's what they'll recommend. We don't have a product to push. We look at your place, work out what would genuinely make a difference, and price only that. Sometimes it's one bolt on a sliding door. Sometimes it's nothing at all, and we'll say so and shake your hand.

That's also why our prices are published on the website rather than revealed after a sales visit, and why the person who quotes the job is the person who turns up no commission, no upsell target. Every job is documented with before-and-after photos, at a fixed price agreed in writing before anything starts.

What insurance do you hold, and what value are you covered for?

Safehaus holds Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. Certificates of currency are available on request.

How quickly can work be completed? What are your turnaround times? Do you offer same-day service?

Most doorstep checks are booked within a few days, and we work Melbourne metro. Where we've got the hardware on the van locks, bolts, window latches, gate hardware, meter box locks a lot of jobs are done on the same visit as the check, so there's nothing to come back for.

Made-to-measure items are different. Security screen doors, window screens and tool sheds are measured on the day, ordered in, and fitted on a booked return date usually two to three weeks depending on the manufacturer. We'll give you the timeframe in writing with the quote rather than guessing on the day.

Fence and anti-climb work is quoted after measuring and generally booked within a week or two.

We don't run an emergency call-out service. If you've had a break-in and need something secured tonight, a 24-hour locksmith is the right call we'll happily do the proper job afterwards.
