I am not really into Mexican food but I went here last weekend and had nachos which were absolutely delicious. I also had, well quite a few, margaritas and they were sooooo good. The only thing I will say is that I was very thirsty during the night due to the margaretas being salty but I will suffer another dehydrated night to indulge in the margaretas once again - recommended
I heeded everyone's warnings about the poor service so booked for 6pm on a Friday evening. The service was excellent and the waitress actually had to wait for us to choose! We had nachos for entree which was piping hot and fresh, enchilada chica and dos enchilada for mains which were also piping hot and tasted great. The prices are what you expect. We also had the mexican punch which was refreshing. Will go there again when craving Mexican.

My Husband and I visit Salsa for the best Mexican in the wider area. We don't go on Tighty Tuesday to avoid the poor service. It's a family run business and they work so hard at providing good food that their markups must be low to compensate for the service staff who are school-aged kids trying to earn some extra $$$.
The owner is very friendly and his wife is the chef and they are run off their feet but they love sharing their culture with their clientele. I do agree that they need some customer service training though, as lovely as they are, waiting 20-min for a jug of coke is no laughing matter.

This place has generous portions but the service is a bit lacking. We waited a while for our food. Our main meals were just okay but the entree of nachos was very nice
Approximate cost: $25
have to agree with majority of people who have rated this place that the service is pretty poor. you can easily wait up to an hour for your order to arrive so i suggest dont go there if you are starving. also i suggest booking a table as it can get very busy and hard to find a table. the food is always great and always a decent serving but its just the service that lets this place down.
We go to Salsa's for dinner at least once a week, usually on tuesday nights, as it is 1/2 half price main meals. The service can be poor at times, but 8 out of 10 times we go there, the waitresses just know what we always order and ask us "same as always", we say yes and they always know and remember what we have.
Personally, we think that the meals are delicious, reasonably priced, but service can be a bit slow and not the most professional as the girls are all young.
Approximate cost: $22.00
I went there for take-away and after being ignored for a while we were greeted by a RUDE young waitress who felt she had to "correct" me with bad pronunciation of Spanish words. The food was a very, very bad version of Taco Bill, and even worse it WAS Taco Bills Menu. They should be ashamed. If they are going to rip off a successful restaurant's menu it should at least be on par with it. EVERYTHING WAS MICROWAVED. I understand that microwaves are a part of modern cooking but when the food is cold one must ask how they have not killed someone yet. I used to work for Taco Bill as a cook and the hygene standards are alot higher there. VERY DISSAPOINTED!
Approximate cost: $15-$20
fantastic - this business goes out of their way to accommodate changes to the menu items. Staff are very attentive. Value is great. We go quite often but try not to go on busier days such as their cheap nights and weekends as they can be a little slow when busy. Overall though, the food is great and they try with the service
Approximate cost: $20
Service IS a joke. The food is good but why bother when you have to wait so long. I got someone elses meal from another table and so I ate 40 minutes before everyone else at the table and then they told the poor bloke whose meal I had that they had just run out so he had to pick something else.
We went quite early on a Saturday night and had a lovely dinner. The food was really good, especially recommend the chicken fajitas which have a delicious marinade and smoky flavour (though my beef enchiladas had a bit too much cheese in them rather than meat). The decor is very casual and kinda homey, without looking cheap. Service was fine, had no problems.
The restaurant is a bit of a drive out if you're not a local (we only went because it was on the way home from the Werribee open range zoo). Also the prices are high for relatively simple fare - beans, rice, meat, tortillas. The bill came to about $55 for 2 mains and 2 serves of corn chips and salsa, but we paid $40 with the 25% discount Entertainment Book voucher. In America, we would have paid half the price for equally good food and the corn chips and salsa would've been free (like prawn crackers at Chinese restaurants). I guess Mexican is a bit more of a novelty out here though. I don't know if I'll be back again, I like the food but don't know if it's enough to justify the cost (and the petrol to drive out there).
Approximate cost: $23
