On 26 January 2024 my six-year-old dachshund suffered and illness which resulted in being unable to stand or walk. As it was public holiday, they were very little available given that I am unable to drive after taking mustard to my local vet on the following day we were referred to Sash Hospital Alexandria, once arriving, we were met by outstanding staff, outstanding premises great empathy, and very quick action on duty. Be advised, mustard, needed to have an operation immediately with only a 50-50 chance of survival as this is my best pet, at 73 years old I was naturally distraught, however, stop with their keep reassuring me. Dr chris Tan attended and advised surgery would take place that day and that I was welcome to visit mustard after recovery the following day I received a phone call advising that the procedure with successful, and that I was welcome to visit Mustard. Over a 10 day, stay mustard, slowly recovered with the aid of such a dedicated and caring staff. Dr chris and staff communicated with me on a daily basis as to his progress, and during my frequent visits to reassure that mustard was loved maintained such an amazing empathy for our situation. The cost was exorbitant, however with pet insurance it was manageable with gap payments mustard did not want to leave. He was being treated so well on his day off Dr chris attended my home to advise on the best recovery position within the house for his recovery. Overall, this was a unbelievably perfect experience, and without the assistance of the entire team mustard is out of his way to full recovery

Yes they are very expensive. But you forget that animals don’t have Medicare . But you do have the option of taking out pet insurance. . And the right one . They have 24 hour care and that comes at cost . They have technology that most vets don’t have . So don’t get a pet if you cannot afford it . They are a part of your life for the rest of their life and again they don’t have Medicare !!

Excellent level of care and communication. All staff were immediately available and offered best care. Contactable at any hour! Very expensive would have liked an option of payment plan.

Sash did an amazing job, they were kind and caring at every step. While it was expensive, the vet spoke with other specialists at a different location. You're getting the knowledge and experience of a team.

I will never forget this Animal hospital sash. The pain they caused to my dog. And myself and husbund. And my other dogs. As we had 3 fur babies. On feb2020. My German shepherd. Was diagnosed with. Myastania gravis. With. Meg. He spent. 4 days in ICU . Dr He was put on a pill Than a female vet said recomadation from ct scan results is to remove thymoma. We did as she said. Thymoma removed. He died one day after dis charge. He was discharged looking like he had a stroke. Shame on you Sash Do not trust. These vets. Our cookie boy. Was fine going in .came out like he had stroke. Dr J is gone. He was unprofessional..but his. Assistant. Dr. RL is still. With. Sash. RL discharged. Cookie drooling .thin. half dead. The surgery. Was dodgy. .they charge. To. Much. My. Second. Furbaby. Had cancer. Took. Her. To. Vine yards vet. They were honest. And prices reasonable ..SASH are money hungry thieves. Who don't care. About the animal. There is probably 4 good doctors. Like Dr Hindley. Dr HD. Fault cookie died as she recommended surgery. When surgery. Caused him to die. And we got worse. Surgeon. Dr J. AND. resident. Dr RL. .

I have found the staff, nurses and vets very competent and caring. Always willing to do that extra little bit that can make a really big difference in sometimes quite stressful times.

Went to Adelaide SASH with sick elderly dog for chronic diarrhoea and anorexia and was told dog had a brain stem issue and needed an MRI. When I declined due to age and that nothing could be done with the results, was told I should put him to sleep there and then. I declined. Then they wanted to do another blood test which I agreed to. While out the back the vet administered an opioid he had a bad reaction to the night before without asking me. When I asked about the diarrhoea and inappetance the response was vague- hes a generally sick dog. The poor dog was up all night again barking and pacing and breathing weirdly after the opioid. I rang, they said nothing they could do now for him but I could bring him in again if I liked and waste another $300. The dog was actually suffering from chronic malnutrition due to IBD and felt much better after a home vet gave him a B12 shot the next day and the opioids wore off. I complained and they justified the vets actions to want to do the most expensive investigation for the least likely possible diagnosis. My advice is get a second opinion before you take theirs. Money making exercise.

I came to see Dr Linda who was so amazing and patient. She really took her time and assesed my lil one who had been suffering with a severe dermatological issues that local vets were not able to help with. They were super kind, Patient, Understanding.
