After about 12 months of unsuccessful treatments which causes my cat, Lucy (4 yo), a lot of chronic pain and discomfort. My local vet 4 Paws recommended me to SASH as my cat needed some delicate surgery and an experienced surgeon to fix her anal sacs. Dr Dan James performed the surgery and it has been highly successful. Lucy made a complete recovery and I am very happy with the result. The communication was good and the care she received was purrfect. Dr Dan James gave me a very good run down on the pros and cons of proceeding with the surgery so I could make an informed decision. I was covered by Medibank Private - Silverpaw so about 70% was returned to me. Honestly you can't buy dresses and dinners out for your precious pets but to free Lucy from the chronic discomfort of this condition was worth every penny. Lucy has not stopped purring ever since and I am so happy that all is well in her life again.

Just a post script to my initial review. I check the accounts from sash the initial quote was $6,000 after everything including set back and consults with the dermatologist the final bill came out at over $8,500. Just a gripe with SASH I rang at 8.10pm asking for the cost to see a vet I was quoted $235 just to walk in the door. I waited till morning and saw out local vet who only charged my $60, big difference in the consulting free. I questioning what I preserved to be an unjustifiable cost and was informed the cost was that high because that had specialist there but I wonder if the specialist was really there or would my dog have to wait till the morning until the specialist came in.

I went to SASH after being referred by my local vet after my dog developed cataracts. The staff are high professional and extremely good at what they did. At my first consult I asked the opthalmologist the life expectancy of my dog as this was going to be a huge factor in deciding on surgery. I was informed that it was between 14 and 16 years. As my dog was just over 13 I went ahead at a cost of $6,500. There were also a number of set back due to the medication they gave my dog, they made her sick. Then they recommended skin testing as she had skin irritations all the testing and add ons the final bill came to over $8,000. They are very good, professional and high experienced but I question the cost of the service and the add on. Now my dog has only weeks to live as she has kidney disease. The surgery incidentally was eight months ago. So much for expectation on life expectancy.

We found the service to be friendly, professional and well above our expectations. Even though it was a bit pricy as we had to get an mri, we felt it was reasonable. We were informed of the price range going in and even ended up paying a little less then expected. Over all I couldn't really fault the facility or the staff as they did an excellent job handling my temperamental dog.

Service by receptionist extremely rude. I
Had to visit 6 times, waited 1 hour each time to see my pet even though I called ahead waited 1hr to collect my pet called 3 to 4 times to speak to a vet. Found the whole experience horrible.
Each time going there saw mortified people reviewing the over-priced bill.
$14k later yes my pets ok would of recevied same service from any of the other number of fantastic vets around.
I am not poor but this is a like buying a Porshe for a toyota service.

My furry friend underwent chemotherapy treatment for cancer and an amputation surgery here. It was amazing how my furry friend loved the staff there and was willing to follow them inside, even though he had had amputation done with them already. They must've had great rapport with him!
Although there were a few fee issues with them and the whole process turned out to be pricier and more complicated than explained to us at the beginning, the staff were willing to communicate and check up on what went wrong with these issues. The customer service was great and although we couldn't say the experience was enjoyable (because my furry friend had an amputation there), my furry friend would be happy to visit this place again if the need arise.

I found it impressive how they had a separate waiting area for Cats and Dogs. Dr Leah Ryan treated our cat and we found her to be wonderful. Even assisting us with pet insurance paperwork. It was a bit of an expensive visit but they were very considerate of our time and kept waiting to a minimum. Needs better street signage as we had trouble finding the building. 10/10 for service, professionalism and care.

Experience and expertise are the hallmarks of this clinic.I have had pets treated for eye, orthopedic and cardiac conditions and have received excellent service. I do find them very expensive though, and a lot of people would be unable to afford this type of work on their pets. For most of us though you cant put a price on the needs of a much loved dog or cat and we wouldmoveheaven and earth to ensure the oets get all the treatment they need.

Our Dog went blind from shaking toys at 7 years of age.We love him just like a child , we could not let him spend his life like this. Mark Billson did a double cataract operation on his eyes and he has fantastic vision. The care was fantastic.

I was referred to SASH by my local vet when my beloved cat was diagnosed with cancer. The oncologist, vets and nursing staff were highly professional, compassionate and caring.

Although they were unable to save his life due to unforeseen complications, I would still recommend them highly to anyone. After his death, I received a lovely card from all the staff that had cared for him. Each staff member wrote a short note about their experience caring for my cat, which was very touching.

They gave me and my cat better treatment than I've seen in many hospitals for humans.
