Satang Thai Takeway

My favourite Thai restaurant. All the meals I've had so far have been delicious. I highly recommend visiting.

GREAT VALUE, good serving sizes, friendly service, popular and also very nice food. It ticks all the right boxes.

As a big lover of Thai food. My partner and I came to Satang Thai Takeway in Quay Street for lunch on my birthday. It was quite busy, however the food was really yummy.

The service here is quick and very polite. If you are a student it is cheap eats for quite alot of food. I went there with about 6 people and our total cost of our meals together was about $70 and we were over full!
The food is great and well worth the cost, I reccomend going if you haven't gone!

One of the best and cheapest places to eat quick meal in Sydney CBD. They server huge variety of curries and noodles. If you are planning to eat in, there are sitting for around 10 people only so might have to wait but take away they are quick. Quick service and reasonable price.

Nice place to go if we are starving the portion is huge and the price is so cheap. Love the pad sie ew from them also thai fried rice with basil. But this place too busy all the times and less chair best advice is take away.

This crowded place is always my choice when I feel like thai food after work. The price is cheap and the food is really nice especially their spicy fried rice. The Red curry ($13.50) was a very large serving with heaps of chicken, green beans, bamboo shoots, capsicum and eggplant. If you ordered the dish by yourself you would struggle to finish it. Its a place for casual dining.

I have been to Satang Thai many times. The meal is cheap and tasty. The service is not too bad considering for what you are paying. Best take away thai food in the city, I strongly recommended.

i really like the pad thai and tom yum as well. If you go there it's always better to take away rather than sit down in a small campy chair. the price is good, pretty decent for the food.

not too bad for a take away option. good portion size and decent price. you might need to squeeze a bit if you decide to eat in there as the place are really small.

Very good Thai take away, I ordered seafood" pa see iew" here, it has enough source, very tasty, as good as expected! The portion is big, and good value!no wonder why it is Always so crowded!

this was one of my favorite when I was a student. went back with my partner last week, food still as good as before, just the price getting higher than before. But consider the inflation rate, the value still good. try to avoid normal lunch time, too many people

Good value.. pad thai during lunch hours for $10.00. Although there portion size tends to vary which was a hassle once, but still the food tastes great! Pretty cheap in comparison to restaurants in its class.Worth a shot.

i always go to this restaurant when i was on my lunch when i am in uni. they are very small shop but they are very efficient, the order always comes pretty quick unless it was on lunch time . u can see a lot of people waiting outside the small shop for the takeaway. the best way not to wait is to call them and order then come pick it up 10 mins later. the main meal is less than $10 and the portion is quite generous. if u need express lunch in the city with budget. try this place out :>

Perhaps the most convenient thing about Satang Thai is that the same business can be found on either side of the street - one in restaurant-form, the other in takeaway.
During my night-time winter classes, I used to skip the first ten minutes to stand and shiver outside the takeaway shop, waiting to receive my order. I put up with this every Monday and Tuesday night, because the food is damn good and the pricing is excellent, particularly for a Thai restaurant in the heart of Sydney. There are tables to sit inside here, but I wouldn't recommend it as it's quite cramped. March ten metres across the road to the senior version instead.
The restaurant across the road has a nice modern feel on the inside. The waitstaff is quick to take your order, even when things get busy. There is a respectable menu of various dishes and they're just perfect for a quick, cheap lunch on your work break or between classes. Most dishes I've eaten have been delicious, although I had one particularly flavoured Pad See Eew once which was clearly over-drenched in soy sauce, which i couldn't finish. With most of the non-'Chef recommendation' items around the $10 mark, this is definitely a place of value.

My favorite Thai restaurant but when I was still a student. The food is good and the price is cheap ! but sometimes the waitress does not have the right attitude of serving their customer, they don't have patience sometimes. All in all still a good place to eat

Enjoyed the food, esp their pad thai. 'awesome' pricing. However I feel that they lacked the consistency. The second time around, my pad thai was a little more sweeter than the first time, not to an extreme, but I was able to notice it.

Still, a good eat out.

Good saturday restaurant to go to with no complaints whatsoever. Quite a good menu and selection of food and will recommend those who have never tried it. Price is standard if not cheaper than other restaurants around the city. in the end worth trying

It is not your typical restaurant as it is a small takeaway shop but with a few tables in case you want to eat in. You won't be disappointed with the food. Fast service and very cheap.

Satang Thai is conveniently located, serves ultra authentic thai meals, very reasonably priced, representing excellent value. The seating is limited but the intermacy makes up for this.

It is so cheap. 7.5 for a meal. you can share with your friend. it come with BIG BIG portion.. Very famous in the Chili Jam chicken, tom yam, very popular special dish- deep fried chicken with vege.. damn nice!!
