It used to be VERY good. But now the portion has shrunk & also not as tasty as before. My bigger problem was I brought along a friend & I was not proud of it. Anyway, I ordered Bakso (Spicy Beef Ball Soup with Vermicelli) & Gado Gado (Salad with Peanut Sauce) to share. The balls were so small! The noodles only one lift of the chopsticks! The salad was too wet! I was so disappointed.

I came out of UTS & reached Shalom at 11.30am but it was still closed. I waited until 12pm & was about to leave when I heard sounds coming from within. I saw a couple. They apologized for late opening & cautioned a 30-minute wait. I ordered Spicy Beef Balls Soup with Vermicelli - It was delicious. Halfway through, 2 young girls came in, had a quick chat with the couple, then went about attending to the cash register & moving the tables & chairs out to the corridor just outside the restaurant. My thoughts - they were employees & very late for work indeed.

I used to go to the other branch in kingsford but sometimes when I go to broadway I will drop by for lunch. they using all disposable plate and cutlery so don't be surprise.
Their menu offers a wide variety of popular Indonesian dishes like several different ayam goreng and ayam panggang, bakmi, sop buntut, tongseng and even gulai singkong. Their sambal (chilli sauce) is spicy hot and fairly authentic.
ayam bali is nice if you like spicy.overall the place is just decent, self service and portion size are just not big enough i reckon.
Approximate cost: $12
I can rate this place as average, the food is not bad but service is limited and the place is run down, price is average as well.. Food is really spicy so be prepared for it. I heard the new Shalom at Sussex st is better so maybe I'll give that one a try..
bite lots of flavour and taste.
a nice place to taste friends who want to try indonesian food!
def coming back again
Approximate cost: $11
Good food, it's quite comparable with real indonesian resto, nice environment and convenient, fast service. However they should learn about good customer service.
Approximate cost: $15
A cheap and cheerful Indonesian eatery - sure, it's lacking atmosphere with the plastic plates but the food makes up for it. The grilled chicken with bumbu Bali is delicious and the heat level lives up to the 4-chilli rating on the menu.
Approximate cost: $10
Service was not that friendly, food was great too especially the chilli paste. I like the one called 'ayam bumbu rujak'; beverages were quite expensive and not worth it at all. Overall, it is quite allright.
Approximate cost: $11
Ordered 'Ayam Goreng Rujak'; the spices are very nicely done and paste was quite hot and chilly. Not recommended for anyone who is not a chilli lover. Portion was quite small and drinks were greatly overpriced.
Approximate cost: $10
This place is one of the best places along the strip of restaurants on parramatta rd at Broadway. Their food is simple, yet very tasty and you can get a variety of things from chilli chicken dishes, rendang curry or satay chicken skewers with the best sauce ive ever had. The service is quick and friendly, you can also call up your order before you pick it up instore. The place gets busy at times but ive never had to wait more than 5 - 10min for my food to be ready. The staff are also very friendly. Highly recommend it.
Approximate cost: $10.00
