Shiny Spaces

Scam - they overcharged and did a dreadful job. They ignored all complaints. Do not fall for it. I reported them but little action was taken. I hope they're held accountable.

Approximate cost: $250

This company is one front of a 3 part scam operation. Avoid them all.

I've never actually taken time to write a review before but the treatment I've received here has forced me to give it a go.

The cleaning performance was disgusting.
The service was terrible.
But the follow-up was actually criminal.
They took our money, delivered nothing they promised, and stopped all forms of communication.

We booked Shiny Spaces for an end of lease clean. They guarantee bond back. We received a quote and agreed upon it.

A day later I asked to add some extra rooms, they wouldn't quote me but said the cleaners would write on the day. In good faith I accepted this.

I won't go into details but the list of failures was significant. From cancelling after the arrival time to completely ignoring whole rooms they quoted for. The "on the day quotes" were excessive and the rooms they did clean were poorly done.

I won't go into details because these things can happen. Mistakes can be made. The website said they guarantee bond back and will happily return to finish the job if required.

This is where the real problems begin.
When I tried to get them back in they won't reply to email or answer phone calls.
I've tried for days but they block all calls.
They won't even take calls from our rental agency.

I have a look at my receipt and notice it's from a different company, City Cleaners.
This is not who I engaged to clean.
I look at their address, 35 Buckingham Street Footscray.
I now see that 3 cleaning companies all have the same address, same services, same style of website.

My guess is that they have 3 seperate business names so that they can share the complaints across the board and remain in business.

I've made my mistake and will have to live with it.
I put this out here to advise anyone to avoid all three of these companies as I'm sure they're all run by the same person and I'm sure they'll all treat you the same.
