We attended on Mothers Day which was obviously one of their busiest days of the year. We found the service to be lacking, even felt that we were being pushed out as soon as we had finished to make room for more people. Food quality was disappointing also, perhaps due to bulk cooking in advance for quick turnaround in customers.

A very loud place to dine, where you'll find you'll be waiting awhile for someone to pay attention to you for you to be seated. On several occasions I have nearly left before being attended. The food is ok, except if you order ribs as you get next to nothing. The serving sizes are average. The cocktails are great for about $15. Sometimes i'd like to order dessert but again, you might be ignored and end up going elsewhere. I woudn't recommend it, but it's a good last minute option as you don't need to make a booking

Approximate cost: $20

Excellent Food, plenty on the plate and well worth it. Youll will may around $25 - $30 for a main. plenty of vegies, chips or salad come with the main. it does get a little noisey.

Breakfasts are fantastic, large and tasty. Its quite in the mornings and the service is excellent

Evening meal are a little less relaxing as the hard floors do make it quite noisy. But the food quality and size makes up for this.

A great place for a casual dinner with family & friends. Modern and spacious with a decent menu mostly Italian offered. Servings are generous and service friendly. Pastas are very nice and cakes are tempting.

I have been here several times and the main thing that comes to mind with this restaurant is "inconsistent". I have had amazing customer service and fantastic food on some occasions and pasta swimming in oil and terrible service on other days. Overall I would definitely recommend the food and 9 times out of ten it is great, but suggest avoiding weekend nights as the open nature of the restaurant makes for a very loud environment and they don't always seem to have enough service staff working. It would be great for big groups, but not a romantic dinner, unless you go on a quieter week night.

Have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Never had a problem with our food, good service and nice food each time. My wife prefers the chicken/mushroom risotto or chicken avocado while I prefer the pastas or warm salads. Will be eating here again.

Approximate cost: $18-$30.

Very friendly staff excellent food freshly prep aired it seems to take a while to be served but it was well worth it I must say I have only been there for lunch service very slow so I haven't been comfortable enough to take a large group of people there for dinner. Deserts are large portions and delicious I will go to shuga again to re evaluate I'm hoping their service will improve as the food is so great it's shame the business will surly get a bad name

Approximate cost: $25

As someone who lives in the area I have been to Shuga many times for functions, nights out etc. Food is always superbly delicious and cooked to perfection and the prices are very reasonable. HOWEVER the service is disgraceful! To be more specific, the waitresses are run ragged and hoarse from apologising for the slow service whilst the manager on duty is either oblivious to the situation or doesn't care. The wait staff seem just as stressed and frustrated as the diners.
On the night that I last visited there was table of 14 of us for a birthday. The restaurant was approximately 2/3 full. We ordered at around 7.30 and there was no sign of our food until 9.00. after 1 hour the organiser of our group asked the waitress and was met with apologies and she said she would check on it. She was very upset that she could not tell us a time but didn't think it would be long. The manager did not appear concerned with the fact that our entire table was getting very frustrated. He spent the night greeting people and asking people if they needed anything yet left our table alone completely, even after our waitress explained to him that we were getting very annoyed, since it appeared to us that 2 other large groups that arrived well after us were almost finished their meals. When the meals finally came, 3 of the 14 were missing. Two of the meals in question were simple bowls of chips (yes, 2 bowls of chips) for 2 children who were in tears by that point. I not only had to ask the manager directly for the chips, he did not apologise and did not go to the kitchen to chase them up. I became increasingly agitated when I saw another table of diners who had arrived only half an hour earlier receive, you guessed it, bowls of chips. I left my seat at that point and asked him again and the poor waitress eventually bought them out. The third meal was eventually delivered to our remaining diner after we had all finished our meals. Overall the long waiting times for meals are disappointing as the food is lovely and good value.

Usually takes awhile for someone to seat you and take your order but service comes with a huge smile & the food is always great. I also appreciate staff letting you know how long your meal will take to be received when they are busy
