WORD OF MOUTH...I'LL CERTAINLY SPREAD THE WORD
At every stage there was a stuff up by them
- forgot to communicate to relevant person that I had paid
the full amount in 24 hours, which then placed you in the
queue....which left me out in the cold
- coming between 11 and 1pm...contacted me at 1.15pm
to say that they couldn't make it that day...
- arrived half an hour late following day
WE PRIDE OURSELVES on leaving the place immaculate
which I had stressed from the outset as vital...
- left his footprints across the floor
- left a mess where debris had fallen out of the manhole
only removing top layer
- moved chairs, which he didn't replace when he left
- left leaves where they fell when he was attaching camera
outside
AND WORST OF ALL....raced me thru the process as though I was already a graduate of technology, so that I had little idea and no time to digest what he was saying.....
- Instruction book in letters so tiny that even he couldn't decipher it
- AND TO MY HORROR.....left the building, and I realised that the camera was still on the tv picture, and I had no knowledge of how to return it to TV/Foxtel.....He was out of here,
leaving me bereft of knowing anything......It took me ages to retrieve my tv/foxtel, and that was a miracle in itself, as what was required was my alternate remote control which I rarely use and have no idea how I twigged to trying that....
- I WAS IN SUCH A STATE, having to then restore my place to tidy and footprint free, that I had to cancel two other appointments I had.....
- I then left a message for the front man to call me, spluttering in rage and forgetting what my phone number was...ringing back to say that I was too angry to speak until late afternoon.
- That was last Friday....today is Thursday and no return call
I AM SO ANGRY AND SORRY THAT I CONTRACTED THEM TO
INSTAL MY CAMERA....
=I Know what good service is....Geeks2U come here for my technical 'fixes', and they are not only exemplary in how they take the customer thru the process, but they are all but magic and involved, throughout......I would rank them 20 out of 10...
I would rate you as 0...if there was a lower ranking

Forgot to add,
- that he referred me to Google for instructions, but when I went there, there were so many codes and models, that I had no idea which applied to mine.....so am still left in the dark - as this was a parting reference he made. I need to exorcise this experience, to even dare to get myself to try the security camera out, as yet.
- I saw a remote in the box next to him and asked what that was for....and he said a "remote"....If I hadn't picked it up, I wouldn't have it now, but I still have no idea of how to use it.....LEFT HIGH AND DRY AT EVERY STAGE. LJB

Recently moved into our new house with an operating Bosch alarm system, run off power with no GSM / back to base functionality. This meant if someone was to break in, the alarm would go off but I would have no way of being notified, if not present.

My former house had a Paradox GSM system which ran off a SIM card, meaning that you get a text message if the alarm goes off. In the event the power goes down, it has a backup battery for 12 hours, and a text message is sent to advise backup is in use.

I have always previously used a different company for our security systems, but decided to engage Signal as I was interested in the “App” ability of the internet based alarm monitoring (vs GSM/ SIM cards). Being able to arm/ disarm and receive notifications via the App was a big draw card.

Of course, a limitation of the internet option is if the cable is cut / internet down, the App notifications will not work. When I inquired with the sales consultant from Signal as to what happens in the event this is so, they advised that the app will 1) automatically send you a notification when the internet is not working and 2) store notifications in the background (eg. Alarm triggered etc.) and push those to you via the app when the internet is reconnected.

On the basis of the above being factually correct, I decided to go with Signal and this more expensive internet based solution (vs what I had at my former house with sim / text notifications), at a cost of $2.4k.

However, on install I was told by the technician that point 1 above is not correct, there is no notice provided if the internet is cut/ not functioning, meaning that the end result is the same as the pre-existing Bosch solution that the house had - specifically, if you are not home, you don’t know the alarm has gone off.

Frustrated having just wasted $2.4k on a solution I would not have opted for if correctly advised, I called their customer service and was told the same advice that the technician explained, which was well and good but not the same as the sales pitch. The customer service officer was empathetic and advised he would speak to the specialists and call me back the following day to see what could be done. I never received a call back.

Approximate cost: $2400

Our shop installed Signal security system and cameras a few years ago. We caught a couple of thieves using the system and so it has payed for itself already! The salesman was very patient and explained everything very simply. Installation and after sales service can't be faulted. Highly recommend

I had my alarm system installed by signal security 9 years ago & I have no hesitation in recommending signal security to anyone wanting to deal with a reliable & reputable security company,

Do not use this company. What you pay is much more than their quote. Technician tested sensors and said they were all ok but few minutes later went back into our house and “adjusted” one sensor. Few weeks later problem with the “adjusted “sensor and told new senor now required $228 on top of what we had already paid for the job.

When I called customer service was told if I paid for monitoring they could explain how this “fault” suddenly appeared after original test and clearance. Customer service really stood their ground - this might be a regular thing they do to customers. Don’t risk it.

Customer service and product are excellent.
After installation followup was also excellent. Overall a very good company with great product and service .

Beware of this company. They force you to do yearly service and if you refused, they will keep calling you saying there is a fault or any excuses until you finally give in. You then have to pay the call out fee and the service fee. When I called up to cancel their service, they said you have to give them a month notification. Then it take them a month to send out an email to you for the cancellation. They ask you to fax it but not sure if their fax work because I couldn't fax through. So i email them but they still keep on withdrawing from my bank account. It has been 3 months now since I call them up for cancellation but they just keep on withdrawing each month. I have taken to my bank for dispute and if nothing comes out of it, I will cancel my bank card and move to another bank. Stay clear from them.

Wish Id seen your review before I used this company. Similar thing happened to me so it sounds like they are trying this with other customers too. They tested our new Security system and said everything ok. Technician went back into our house to make an adjustment to one sensor then few weeks later there is a fault with that same sensor. Ad to pay call out fee and have that same sensor replaced. When I tried to discuss extra charges of $228 was told I should have said I did t want the sensor replaced which would have meant that our new security system wouldnt work.

BUYER BEWARE! I had my alarm installed by Signal Security. Soon after the control panel was found to be faulty. I was charged to have it fixed even though it was under warranty. The excuse they gave was the call out charge / labour costs were not included. Despite numerous requests by me to have the fee cancelled, they were ignored and I was continually chased for payment. Terrible customer experience.
