All around a fairly average Italian restaurant. The pastas are pretty good, usually quite tasty, though I've not had much luck with the pizzas which seem to use too much ham and not enough quality ingredients.

I used to think Sofia's weren't as good as their obvious competitor, but that competitor hasn't been very good recently either, so about the same. Disappointing, as they could try and replicate the American model of chain restaurants and do very well, but it seems the're not quite enthusiastic enough for that.

Really only recommended for a family or group needing a "no-think" place to meet up that isn't too expensive, will take kids (and give them crayons!), and not be too much fuss.

Cheap and large meals but have found that the quality of food is of a much lower standard than when they first opened up. Very loud atmosphere making it hard to have conversations.

We used to get takeaway from here a lot (12 months ago) as it was always great value for money, however recently the prices have increased and the meal sizes seem to have decreased. We used to easily get 2 dinners out of 1 main meals, but not any more. The pasta dishes were always tasty though.

We came into dinner for our son's birthday party saturday night. It was Jammed Packed.
The floor manager was helpful and organised bruschetta for both of our tables. All staff were friendly and recomended specials, pizzas and cocktails.
The pizzas were excellent and recomend the napolitian pasta. The parmeganas were huge but very tasty. The Frito misto was golden brown but our salad was forgotten initially but the manager followed that up straight away.
We will be back!!

Cheapest Italian restaurant Ive found in melbourne! $10 for a generous serving of pasta is sensational. There are an exceptional amount of vegetarian pasta options, rather than just having one like many other places! Delicious food and I love the takeaway option provided. Only issue is that it is always exceptionally busy so getting something like a drink refill is a bit of a hassle!

Approximate cost: $10

Can they provide an edible meal? Yes. Do their staff offer good service? Yes. Are the owners decent people who deserve to be in business? That's the question you need to ask yourself. If you want to eat at and support a restaurant where the staff are treated in a disgusting manner, then you have picked the right one. Bawling out a young waitress because she accepted a phone call about a friend's death and was upset is beyond disgraceful. The whole Sofia chain have lost my business.

Good value, serice was pretty good, we wanted to sit outside as it was a nice day, so they were kind enough to move the furniture around for us, staff were kind and considerate, food was pretty good, had chicken parma (huge!) and pizza.
