Great little spot on Smith St. One of my favourites would be the rice cakes with the Caesar salad on the side. Never fails to get my mouth watering. Great range of veggo/vegan delights and a reasonable price.

Great priced, tasty food. Love the new rennovations! The whole menu is delicious. Very friendly staff. Relaxed but cosy vibe about the place. I often stop by for mid week dinners!

Have had a great experience whenever I've been here, the updated menu is great although I'm still bereft at the grilled haloumi being gone from the menu! Not usually a fan of vegetarian food, but this place makes it a treat rather than a chore!

I ate here today with 3 adults and two children after purchasing a voucher via livingsocial. I was blown away with the quality of food. Mostly vegetarian with some meat pizzas, even the two year old was pleased with the spread. We ordered a tropical smoothie made with bonsoi milk for myself and our two 9year olds, aranchini balls, Calabrese pizza, spinach kofta (Omg delisj), haloumi, lentil burger, lasagna, and much more I just can't recall. Everything was delicious and it was well priced. The waitress was friendly and attentive without making us feel crowded.

Our only complaint would be that the air conditioning was not efficient and the water on tables was warm. We were sweltering from the heat and it made it difficult to eat our absolutely delicious meals. I will certainly be back but hoping they will have cooling sorted next time.

Approximate cost: $15

We have been going to your cafe for years and have to say the last three times we have gone we have been sooo dissapointed.
1. I was served a small glass for the soy dandy latte a few weeks ago, and given no discount for the mistake the waitress made as apparently, "she was new". Not great service.
2. Fri night about a month ago. New staff again and obviously under staffed. In the 20 min wait we watched four tables leave, as did we, just to give the one poor waiter a break.
3. Today we waited over half an hour for two bowls of chips, when we finally asked the German accented waitress, she gave my husband the worst attitude and was a complete bitch to him. He said we were waiting for two bowls of chips, to which she said, "well did you order them?" in a rude and condescending tone, before going on to blame him because they weren't put through!  We don't care how miserable her life is, there is no need to give us her shit day. Our international guest was even snarled at and asked "can I help you" with utter disgust.  He just happened to be looking in her direction absent mindedly.
We will not be back and will never take anyone there again, which is sad as we have loved your place for years.
Being in business myself and having hundreds of clients I speak to daily, I will not be recommending soul food again.

I had been told about this cafe by a friend so when I saw it in my travels decided I would stop and eat there. The shop front isn't that inviting, but once you get inside the 'rustic' nature of the place is very relaxing and reassuring. The staff had a very 'earthy' look about them and had very kind and helpful demeanors. I found there were many options for me being intolerant to many foods, and they were happy to change anything that I couldn't have. Their meals are big, affordable and their service genuine and quick. I had a chickpea curry and it was delicious! Their coffee is fairtrade also which is important to me.

I love the food here. I have found the service to be very slow. When you are dining with a 2 year old, you do not want to be waiting 45 minutes for your lunch. When it eventually does come out, it is nice; but sometimes it is just not worth the wait.

I can not for the life of me figure out why people eat here! The food is alright but the servings are tiny and the service is just a joke. At first I kept returning, hoping they had hired new staff but it seems that the wait staff are taught that rudeness equates to trendiness. For a while there it was a game to see how many times we could be treated like scum in one visit. Don't ask them which of the items are vegan or could be made vegan, unless you want to fear having your food spat in no matter how polite you are. Also I once found a long black hair in my juice. I sent it back and had the same juice returned to me with the hair taken out. Really wish this place had nicer staff because I think it could be a nice dining experience otherwise.

Best vegetarian food I've ever had. The non vegetarians that came with me were also amazed with it. The place was recommended to me and lived up to the expectations.

Approximate cost: $8.00
