Killarney is famous for its country cuisine. Spring Creek Mountain turns country cooking into fine dining. Most of the ingredients are fresh and local. They are cooked and presented simply for your enjoyment. Even the coffee and desserts are legendary.
Oh and the view is fantastic, though it is the same as the view at Carrs lookout 10 metres up the road. But the lookout doesn't include antipasto places, steak and barrumundi or wonderful indulgent desserts.
This is quite a lovely place for lunch. This place is based in a very scenic location and very relaxed. I had a lovely Killarney steak burger from here which was very filling. Very good service too.
Approximate cost: $20.00
From Brisbane if you are looking for a day trip you might want to try the drive through the Head, Condamine Gorge, Queen Marys Falls and Killarney. Go to Boonah and set the GPS on 'Killarney via the Head.'
You will drive through lush pastures, dryland rainforest, state forest, the great dividing range, and the head of the Condamine River catchment.
There are three places you can try for a lunch break but this review is for the Spring Creek Mountain Cafe. This is the place to stop is you want fabulous food, great service and a senstational view of Wilsons Peak as you eat.
