0 rating for Stayz. Has no service and no control over the property. Can’t help to move the dates neither could help to refund when the owner delayed a number of times to move the bookings to agreed date. Will never go back.

Decided a few days at Victor were in order so looked on this booking site and found an apartment available on the foreshore. Looking forward to relaxing and looking at the sea. The booking process was easy, quick and no hassles. will use again.

I have lodged a formal complaint to ACCC about STAYZ and owner of the property for breaches to The Australian Consumer Law.

This matter is still being escalated until Stayz ceases to neglect its due care and skill included in the Consumer Guarantees. .

Stayz steers absolutely from responsibility.
Each of Stayz staff regurgitated, "It's up to the owner's DISCRETION".

Material policies do NOT exist.

Despite almost 20 messages, phone calls and emails to Stayz, I was informed yesterday that Stayz has to "confirm and clarify (the owner's) cancellation policy" which legally then does not affect me if such was not disclosed prior to my booking and payment.

Stayz irresponsibly allow owners to impose unfair and unreasonable conditions after payment. In my case, 2 days after booking, I was asked to clean a 2 bedroom townhouse (unknown area and floor plan)"thoroughly" or the "fully refundable" Damage Deposit be partially or fully forfeited.

Such unreasonable terms would have STOPPED me from booking. (Holiday accommodation is supposedly for enjoyment.)

Try searching for Contact to Stayz. No Link exists before or promptly after you have booked.

No Invoice was issued for payment.

One has to wait for days and with arduous effort search for contact ways. Phone calls are subsequently transferred to RUDE and untrained consultants in Philippines.

My experiences of unconscionable conduct of the Owner whom Stayz chose to ignore:
1. Owner engages in MISLEADING REPRESENTATION of prices (advertisement and email confirmation); damage deposit $200 (lodged on Stayz online system, $250); $60 Pet Fee per stay but informed me of $50 per animal.

When informed, Stayz irrationally explained that I would be debited for amount keyed by owner into their system, and NOT, what was advertised.
(Read ProductReview page and you will find that many people have experienced false and misleading representation by owners extensively.)

2. Owner refused all communication before card debit has effected.
After a Letter of Demand was sent to her, she phone messaged, "Will notify stays of booking cancelation. They do refund to your credit card."
Following, Stayz promptly advised that my booking had "unfortunately" been cancelled.
Stayz refunded me $250, which I naturally thought was a prompt partial payment.
Within the same day, $250 was debited.
No further refund has been made for near half a month now.

3. Further attempts were made to resolve with the owner.
She messaged, "read t&c".
I requested that she specified exactly where and what "t&c".
She did not answer.
She diverted saying that Stayz was responsible.

4. After almost 20 emails, messages and phone calls to Stayz, a respond to a FB message advised that Stayz had to "confirm and clarify (the owner's) cancellation policy".
Obviously, there was no visible policies.

5. NOTHING is refundable including 7-night stay.
I did not use the accommodation neither have I an opportunity to damage anything.
FULLY NON-REFUNDABLE.

6. Stayz refuses to resolve. Stayz is awaiting upon Owner's policies.

My sister in law and I arranged a combined family holiday earlier this year through Stayz website, it was the first time I had used it, they go away on trips more than we do.

I found this website very easy to use, and user friendly.

We managed to get a big house in Bawley Point, walking distance from the beach, it was a great location.

It also had plenty of parking.

Our transaction was easy, we just split the bill later.

The house was great, it had its own track to the beach, lots of bedrooms, kids room, plenty of toilets and a big dining and kitchen area.

I was impressed by how clean the house was. Being a clean freak myself.

We normally stay in hotels when we go away but definitely worth trying this website again.

I used Stayz website for my snowy mountains visit and we found a very good cottage in Cooma to spend couple of days. It was very affordable and the house was nice and clean with all the necessary facilities well taken care of. I would also recommend it to my friends.

I don't know if I'm missing something with the Stayz website, but I've never once had an email reply to any reservation queries I've made on the website. It is great for finding accommodation, but I always find the same accommodation through their own web pages or through other sites to get real time reservations and/or information. They do have great pics and offer great discounts, particularly last minute, but I definitely prefer other sites for booking accommodation.

I guess it depends on where you are looking. I have had mixed results for Stayz.. but that is an issue with the owner rather than Stayz I think. I have had the same mixed results with all of these booking type websites. What I do like about them is that you can get the name from them then look up the website directly, which is what I usually do as it provides more information. ALso at least with Stayz, when you unsucribe to their email list they actually take you off, unlike some other services.. such as booking.com

I've used the Stayz website a couple of times and my first experience was very, very good.

We got a big house with separate games room close to the beach on the South Coast for a very good price. The whole transaction was easy and the house was perfect for our holiday.

The second time I used them was a little disappointing, only because the owner of the property had leased it without showing it on the Stayz website so a property I had planned to holiday at wasn't available.

Definitely worth a look for a holiday, especially if you plan to stay more than a day or two.

It is one of the best sites where i book all my holidays all around Australia, it has been around 5 years where i depend on my holiday accommodations. i cannot see how i can do a better holiday without this site.

Great, will not use any other website when looking at holiday destinations. Have found some great deals, established great contacts & been on (you guessed it) great holidays, all thanks to Stayz.

Have recommended Stayz to anyone that will stand still and listen, very user friendly webpage / search engine, love the regular emails with holiday specials.

Stayz just takes the hassle out of finding great accommodation at a great price.
