We chose this restaurant by accident, and were lured by the exotic menu and rose petals thrown at us by the entertaining manager of Souk outside the door.
The ambience and internal decor created a lovely setting worthy of a special night out. The menu was extensive enough to cater for a range of tastes. The service was excellent. I found myself coveting the food of my neighbouring guests also. The only down side was the price, which was fair but not cheap. The Moroccan lamb with mint caviar entree was expanded to main course style and accompanied by a delicious and aromatic tagine. A refreshing beetroot and orange and walnut salad freshened the palate, whilst a couscous side soaked up the divine juices in the tagine. We finished with a beautifully presented mezze dessert plate. Each of the four desserts was special in its own right and differentiated from traditional desserts by the simple hint of aniseed or rosewater.

Busy for a Tuesday evening. Sat outside. OK for alfresco dining - furniture more substantial than most. Service slow - it was busy. Wine list modest but OK. Food - an entree and three dishes to share came in a odd order - a main, then the entree then another main and later another. So much for food to share. The dishes varied from ordinary (spring rolls) to just better than average. The food made up for it being tasty and plenty of it but I'll think twice before going back again. Yes the food was good but the service also counts on the overall experience.

I think this is a bit pricey for what you get. We had take away and its cash only (frustrating). the food is nice but was a bit light on the meat and a LOT of onion and green capsicum. You felt a little cheated. The food was ok, but for this area where there are masses of thai restaurants, it was average.

Stir Crazy in KIRRIBILLI is one of our most fave restaurants, we go there a lot, so we thought we'd give the Erskinville one a try, we have actually had good take away from them before, but decided to go for a sit down meal. We thought the service was quite slow, only one younger guy was nice and helpful while the girls seemed to talk amongst themselves and offer no assistance what so ever, they were actually quite rude. very disappointing, and the food isn't a scratch on Kirribilli.

Eat in or take away, best to eat in though as the portions are bigger. Great place to go with a few friends and get a range of dishes. Sesame beef is a great dish as is their Pad Thai and their curry puffs are awesome. They also have a frequent diners card where you can get a free dish when you purchase a certain amount. They are quick with the orders often it all comes at once but it is good if you are getting take away.

Approximate cost: $16
