Stunning theatre. The decor is beautiful the seats are comfortable and you don't require a small loan to see a movie!

The Sun Theatre is a great cinema and always has the blockbuster and the art films. I much prefer to travel to see a movie at the Sun than go to the bigger chain cinemas.

I really like the Sun Theatre. Good range of films and the atmosphere is great - I love how it's old school, right down to the seats! All that said, I'll never see another 3D film there again. The boys and I went to see Thor there in 3D and none of the glasses we had worked. I grabbed another 6 pairs from the cart outside (there were 3 of us and I was trying to increase my chances of finding some that worked), but to no avail, so we had to watch the movie and just put up with the blurriness. When I Mentioned it to the staff however they were very apologetic and immediately offered us free tickets, which restored a lot of my faith. So even though I still avoid it for 3D, I prefer to see my 2D films at this unique and excellent theatre.

Love this place! Great Cinemas with atmosphere. They have a good range of films. Monday and Tuesday are cheap nights, but if you buy a Sun membership for $12 you get cheap tickets all week long - very quickly pays for itself.
They have done a great job restoring this venue and show cute little films about its restoration before the previews.

Beautiful cinemas, great atmosphere, excellent customer service - you really can't go wrong here. My family and I started going here after a bad experience at Hoyts and we will never look back. We now go alot more often than we used to because this cinemas is great value for money but you feel like you're going somewhere special. Definitely do this for a date night and then keep going back just to spoil yourself. I'm so glad we have an alternative to the big cinemas where you are only treated as a ticket price! This is more than just going to see a movie - it's an experience!

We Love The Sun theatre. If it's not on at the SUN, we don't go to see the movie. Love the various difference size/style theatres. Great "locals" atmosphere. The Sun is the Jewel in the Crown of The West. Love the book shop too.

Approximate cost: $10

Awesome Old Place This place is great. Plenty of choice in films so don't you don't have to see the latest Hollywood Schlock (unless you want to, they play those too). Cheap tickets on Mon & Tues and a decent wine list make this the best Theatre in the west!

Approximate cost: $10

This is easily one of my favorite places on earth and it is such a hidden gem. It is like stepping back in time. This is where we always go on date night!

This theatre is so beautiful and charming. Unfortunately the seats are a little dilapidated so once you are actually watching your film your comfort is a little componised. But it is worth it to be in the gorgeous graceful old building. A yarraville favourite.

A renovated cinema in Yarraville, fixed up from an old dilapidated wreck of a shell of the old Sun theatre. Kept in the feel of the Art Deco style of the time it was originally built, but very comfy & modern at the same time. Many cinemas featuring lots of movies & a couple of new plush ones with leather lounge couches & chairs. You can even buy a mini bottle of wine to take into the cinema with you & afterwards enjoy one of their many delicious home made choc top varieties or mixed chocolate boxes. Cheap days are Mondays AND Tuesdays & for a small fee of about $10 per year you can join as a member & see cheap movies any day. A wonderful cinema experience.

this old deco theatre has been lovingly restored to its former glory and in these days of cinema multiplexes, bright lights and all that comes with corporate take over, it is so nice to be able to relax in a cinema that reminds you what it was like when you were a child and actually got dressed up to go to the movies! A cinema for real movie lovers!
