I had what can only be described as a substandard experience as a day patient at this facility. I was told to arrive at 8.30am. I was still waiting to be called in for my GA after noon. I was given no information about the reason for the delay and just left sitting for 3.5 hours in addition to a 12 hour overnight fast. Then when I "came to" after my procedure, I was sent home with a bunch of leaflets indicating someone would be following up with me within 24 hours. No one ever did. Four days later, after having a significant adverse reaction to the anesthetic and pain meds and calling the anesthetist to discuss my issues (which he agreed were definitely legitimate clinical concerns) then calling the hospital "complaints" area (AKA the "Quality" Division !) no one has bothered to return my call. In fact the only correspondence I have had are the receipts they issue for the account they require you to pay in advance of admission !!! Seriously if I had been fully informed about their sloppy clinical practices, I would never have gone near the place and I strongly advise that you don't either......

Approximate cost: $4000

I had my first child at Sunnybank Private Maternity in July 2015. I cannot speak highly enough of this hospital. It seems that everyone is going to Greenslopes since it's renovation coz it's 'like a hotel' but someone pointed out to me that Sunnybank Private has numerous other benefits. These include free parking; really easy access from the carpark to the maternity ward (no elevators/stairs etc); plus it's across the road from the shopping centre should you need something, plus if hubby gets hungry, he can grab something from the dozens of restaurants across the road!

Another benefit of Sunnybank is that it is much quieter than the popular hospitals which are much busier. When I was in the maternity ward, there was only a couple other mums there so it was really really quiet.

The midwives and staff were really great, the food was pleasantly surprising and overall, I had a really good experience!

recently my partner went here for a laproscope and the doctors looked after her and even rang me when she came out of surgery and gave me a run down on what they did and when I arrived back at the hospital he was there to greet me and told me I would have a little wait before I could see her thank you they are opposite the sunnybank plaza and right next door to the medical centre that is also private

The fact that they don't charge for parking unlike most other private hospitals is also a huge bonus.

I have now had 3 surgeries here as this is where my specialist operates from. Having been to other private hospitals, I found that this was disgraceful. It was an 'effort' for the nurses to assist me with toileting and other things and no one on staff seemed friendly, except the lady at reception that took my money. I would not recommend Sunnybank Hospital to anyone if they had a choice of private hospital.

A little over 2 years ago I became very ill indeed. And in the last two years I have spent almost 10 weeks in this Hospital. My stay included terms in ICU, Day surgery, Surgical Ward, Physio and 4 trips to the Theatre for some serious surgery. I am here today because of the dedication of the teams of doctors and nursing staff at the SPH. Lets not forget the cleaners, catering staff and physio. I got to know them well in this time and can say with certaintity that you will be cared for here. Great people, good food. Nurses are fantastic and the Doctors know their stuff.

I've had several unpleasant tests and treatment. the doctors and staff were always very professional and help full. Food was very good, I can't complain, you can choose your own from the meal. The medical experience of the doctors and nurses were amazing. Any questions were answered on the spot and explained in plain English.

Having had 2 children in public hospital (both every wonderful experiences), for my 3rd child, went private. Very happy with the service. The midwife was very good, sweet and kind. She was helpful. I had my own double bed, roomed in with my baby which they encouraged. My husband was allowed to stay also. LOVED that I had my own TV (did not have to pay for it), my own shower and toilet, my own room that could be locked. The staff were very caring, considerate - always knocked before entering the room. I had a physiotherapist come to chat with me and she spent a half hour in my room just with me! If I am blessed to have another, will definitely be back to Sunnybank Private Hospital.

I would recommend this hospital for someone who is having a baby, it's a private hospital, you get your own room with en suite, tv, fridege, phone in room, local calls are free, which was very convient.
Staff are really friendly and helpful, always checking to see if i was ok, they are quite quick when i needed them, except in the mornings when there are limited staff.
Food was very good, can't complain, you can choose your own from the mean.
The midwife stays with you throughout the labour, mine was great, her shift finished and she still stayed on after the delivery.
