Great place for authentic Japanese food. Right outside the station so easy to get to! The beef teriyaki is amazing and a very generous portion. Staff are also very friendly and accomodating

Really good place, next to railway station. The food is fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly and offers good service.

I wasn't expecting much, but Sushi-Ya turned out to be a pleasant surprise, serving authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine. Japanese food is my favorite cuisine, and having lived and eaten in Japan for four years, I am pretty picky about the food quality, particularly with sushi and sashimi. This place meets my standard and gets our thumbs up. ...

I'm glad I ordered the teriyaki chicken because my other friends dishes was so-so.
Service was lousy, everything slow from order taking, to drinks arriving after long wait to food being brought for 2 but third one take another 15 minute.
it's fine balance between quality, price but not the service. sushi & sashimi is like your average japanese restaurant.

WOW... what has happened to this place?

This place used to be awesome, generous portions, great taste and fresh food.

What remains now are, ultra small portions, steep prices and lesser quality cooking.

We had a mother's day dinner here tonight. Absolutely horrid. We had 2 different sushi menus ordered, main sushi at around 20's and another at around $30's.

They tasted good, but way too little for how much we paid. We ended up with a bill around 170ish (for the 4 of us).

Service was wretched, where we were first seated, the lights weren't coming on, so we asked asked to be seated else where THREE TIMES before they did anything about it.

after our initial order, we were still hungry and ordered more sushi and udon, they completely forgot about our sushi or they served it to others who ordered after us. WE were FURIOUS after asking them 3 times, they kept telling us 'oh it's coming'. The thing is I saw a bunch of people who took sushi platter for takeaways, I know they served OUR sushi to them or they just put our order aside.

Either way, it's stupid to have 2 of us having our udon going COLD.

Their katsu don was 3 cutlets? sliced, now they're 2 per serve, and they're no doubt much smaller in size.

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'd ever ever go back to this place.

I initially rated this place a 4 star, but that was before they decided to go shifty. I used to LOVE this place. god I'm so upset, management must have changed or something.

I was really surprised when I came here. It's a little place hidden away but the food turned out to be really good. We actually had to wait a while before they had a table available. Very surprising.

A great, cosy location next to Artarmon station. Fresh food and friendly staff, it's a great place to eat out a healthy lunch. A relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from.

I have eaten here several times with friends. We almost always have the tempura. Mostly it has been great, but last time we felt it was a bit greasy. They must have been having an off day.

This place is small but very right next to Artarmon station. It has a nice atmosphere and is quick a cosy location. Very good value meals with great variety such as sashimi, sushi, teriyaki, tempura, soft shell crab, udon, eel rice, quick service and good location. Sashimi is fresh and good quality!
