A friend and I came here for lunch one weekday having heard very good things about this café. Sadly we were disappointed. We arrived at about 11.50a.m. As lunch was not served till 12noon we had a coffee each to fill in the time. Our lunch order was taken at about 12.10p.m. Around 30 minutes later a waitress came to tell us that our order had been mislaid but would be ready very soon. Our food finally arrived 50 minutes after we had ordered it. To be fair they did deduct the price of our coffee from the bill but the food itself was quite expensive and portions were very small. Another table appeared to be having problems with their order too. We won't be going back.

My daughter and I had lunch here on a visit to the area. My lamb Souvlaki was tasty and authentic. Service was fine-prompt and pleasant, although you have to order and pay at the bar and then meals are brought to the table. The restaurant is on the main street with plenty of one hour parking nearby. They also have internet terminals available costing $3 for 30 minutes or $5 for an hour. We were pleased to be able to check our emails etc here.

My daughter and I had lunch here one very cold, wet and windy day. The place was very busy but the service was prompt and pleasant. My burger was very tasty with the chips just how I like them-thin and crispy. My daughter's soup and cheese toastie was also tasty and very warming. There were a few interesting items for sale including candles, postcards, notebooks and serviettes though these were a bit expensive. On a fine day the view would be splendid. There is plenty of parking plus bush walks for energetic people!

There was an amazing selection of chocolate here. They sell mostly Fair Trade Belgian chocolate, all made on site. It was interesting to watch the chocolate being made through a glass window. We bought a great selection of individual chocolates which were all packaged for us in decorative boxes. The prices were a bit on the expensive side, but it was worth it for the quality as a special treat.

My daughter and I had a very relaxing 45 minute hot oil massage here. The staff were very accommodating and made sure that we were comfortable and that the treatment was exactly how we wanted it, just the right pressure, not too hot and they focussed on any troublesome spots such as my knees and back. It was a very enjoyable experience.

My daughter and I treated ourselves to a spa and Devonshire tea package here during our "Girls' Weekend" away. It was very enjoyable and relaxing, staff were very pleasant and helpful and it was a great experience. I did feel it was a little too hot in some of the rooms and pools but other people seemed quite happy. Some people were a bit selfish and stayed in the spas too long when other people were waiting to get in. The Devonshire tea was very tasty. We would be happy to come here again next time I visit Melbourne.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights here in a 2 bedroom cabin[called a miner's cottage]. The facilities were adequate [though a bit expensive at $170 per night]. [We were also asked to provide our own sheets for one of the beds]. The beds were comfortable but the floor creaked very loudly in my room so it was a bit disturbing when I had to get up in the night. A few more tea bags would have been good! The park was conveniently sited on the outskirts of Daylesford.

The café was obviously very popular when 4 of us arrived for lunch. The only seats we could get were backless stools which proved to be very uncomfortable. Apart from that we enjoyed our lunch. The freshly made pies were hot and tasty and the other meal choices were interesting, fresh and enjoyable.

We had dinner here to celebrate an ex-workmate's retirement. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. It was all Italian of course with a choice of pastas and pizzas. We had 2 pizzas and salad, with a shared antipasto plate to start. It was more than adequate for 4 of us although we did all manage a small dessert as well.! Corkage was a bit pricey at $10 a bottle. I found the wooden chairs a bit uncomfortable and the noise was a bit of a problem but we enjoyed our meal anyway.

My husband, brother and I had lunch here one weekday. The view of the boats was great, the food was tasty, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. [The fish was locally caught]. The only minor problem was the very limited choice of beers. The manger had forgotten to order more!
