Suwan Thai

I'm not normally a fan of Thai food but wowwwww this is the best place I've ever been to! Serving sizes are huge and it tastes great! Will be back

We love this place, Service is always fantastic. Food is real authentic Thai! We have NEVER had a bad meal from here EVER! Very family friendly too. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Best local Thai around!

I am a regular visitor to this restaurant because the service is great and so is the food. The restaurant is quite large so even without a booking we are always looked after by the friendly staff. Considering the size of the restaurant and the fact there are always a lot of customers in there you don't have to wait to long for the food. The one time we did have to wait for our food it was because of what we ordered and we were informed of this straight away. There is a large menu to choose from and my favourite is the red curry!

Great authentic Thai food, with plenty of choices. If you want it that extra bit spicy, they will happily provide some fresh sliced burning hot little chillies.
They have the usual choices of curry sauces - just pick the meat or veg you want + they have the stir fried dishes including fresh whole fish.
It can look like the servings are a bit small however, I have never walked away still hungry, in fact, I usually take home a doggy bag with the leftovers. Breakfast of champions the next day.
Every time I'm in Melbourne I make the effort and visit. Highly recommended.

There must be more Thai restaurants in Melbourne than there are in Bangkok; its like finding a Starbucks in America - every second shop seems to be one.

Given this, I think the expectations are a little higher than usual.

For me, the highlight is the food (not the decor). I typically go for some variation of a beef dish and have never been disappointed here. The meals arent fatty nor saturated in some indistinguishable sauce - they are fresh, not excessive in quantity and served for eating, not just looking at. Our children often get a variant of the fried rice which somehow finds a balance between healthy (looking) and tasty. It must be how they disguise the vegetables ? The kids do find a counter-balance with the sweets they have available on the counter...

The service is attentive and given that its always full, they co-ordinate the tables effectively. Probably the most difficult thing about Suwan Thai is finding a car park.

An enjoyable evening out - the restaurant can be a little noisy, but has delicious food and is affordable! Always a good night out!

Great little local haunt, now even more popular since they have moved across the road into bigger premises. Food is authentic and delicious and great value. Service is good and we haven't had a bad meal here. Often get take-away but sometimes the wait can be bit long so agree with AndreaS1 that a separate area to collect would be good..can be bit chaotic.

this is a great Thai restaurant... and now that they have moved across the road into the old Mexican restaurant it is even bigger and better...
My only suggestion is that they need to make an area where you can pick up takeaway with out distracting others eating there dinner... its better then the old shop but still needs work.

Generally get take away from this place. Have eaten there once, service great, but too warm on a hot day (aircon not wonderful!). Pad Thai is one of the best i have eaten. Can BYO or buy alcohol there.

Like Tarin Thai this is a great place for fantastic food and value for money. The curries and stir fry are yum and the service is excellent.
The decor and surrounding could use a little revamp but the food makes up for it.

When you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendly staff and the friendly service continues throughout your meal. The service is exceptional. The food is spectucular and the price is even better.

Really lovely dining experience. We took our 2 sons with us, 10 months and 3 years, and the staff were super friendly, and helped where they could to get food to them at the right times, talking to them and making the eldest in particular feel special. Staff were very co-operative with the needs of a family with kids!
Food was delicious! After being away for a few months, coming home and enjoying good, great value, tasty Thai food reminded of the great dining in Australia that we had missed so much! We arrived on opening, and were surprised to see the place fill up so quickly within an hour. In fact, while they were busy, it wasn't crowded, with plenty of space between tables, and they happily accommodated people even without bookings. We shared a couple of mains and entrees, and it was so moreish we wished we had ordered more!

Delicious Thai food, with a consistent level of quality. We live around the corner and I haven't had a bad meal yet. Love the red curry with prawns and their satay sauce is to die for, especially served warm with prawn crackers.

Authentic Thai dishes, cooked by Thai people who know how to do it just right. The Pad Thai is delicious, the staff are friendly and always smiling, ambience is lovely - we keep going back!
