This a great gay friendly bar in Newtown. Normally we just go downstairs to the Thai restaurant in the garden, but it is also a nice place to drink. Certain nights cater to select groups (I think Wednesday nights is for lesbians).

A great central pub to meet in Newtown the Thai food here is really nice and would recommend it. Its just up from the station so its handy to get home after a few.

Ahh! memories of the Bank Hotel. Must be getting old. It used to be mainly gay but hey Newtown is now changed forever sadly in my eyes. But I still meet up with mates here and love the Thai food downstairs. I like that it has little nooks and crannies you can sit in.

Really nice place, they are doing more renovations so upstairs was closed but still plenty of space. Quick service and pleasantly had nice guys on the door.

This pub provides pub food better than most. The resturant out the back is great to grap a good value for money meal before hitting the front bar to get your groove on and have some drinks. Crowd is a mixture of local uni types.

a friend of mine recommended the bank hotel in newtown my bus stops few metres from it which is great,i had a thai dish downstaires which was nice drinks reasonable price they have an outdoor area which is nice for summer at night they have bouncers as it gets busy with diners and drinkers good place to meet friends

Lovely hotel they keep doing mini returbishments so there's always something different to look at. But it's a great place on the weekend lunch to early evening. I can't say what it would be like after 7 pm as I don't dare stay there after that time. Food is good is up there with the best though if it's just the meal your after pay a little more and go to the Thai a little ways up the road it's the best.

I prefer it during the day than at night but the Thai food downstairs is good. You have to book if u plan on going on the weekend at night.

The Bank Hotel is the perfect little get away in the Inner West of Sydney .Perfect little upper class hub to get off bustling busy King st in Newtown. It's a great place for meeting people and they have an excellent outside area where you can order light snacks to main meals or just a have a drink for a very reasonable price. A relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and a good place to go out or starting point for a Friday or a Saturday night. Just don't forget your ID bouncers are very strict on weekends.

great outdoor beer garden downstairs and on the ground floor, and night club upstairs, this place has been done up and is very elegant in the decor. there are 3 bars all with a good selection of drinks. Different areas for different needs and great thai restuarant downstairs.
