Helped us out with a last minute request thanks to management and staff. Service was great and food was great.

just awful! went for afternoon tea, only savoury item available was a quiche that was served after it had been microwaved until it was steaming. Flat white coffee was weak and scalding hot, when i complained it was undrinkable, i was told that was how they made it! we again offered feedback when we paid the bill - and received a smile and request for payment - unbelievable
Please won't someone turn this great venue into the establishment the location deserves it to be?

Cafe has seating outside, nice on a sunny day. Location is handy, conveninet to pop in for a coffee after a walk on Nutgrove Beach.
Pleasant atmosphere inside.
Good coffee, and hot chocolate. Biscuits and cakes are nice (I have tried a number of these on different occasions) but they are not outstanding and rather pricey considering.

Hi Nicole121, thanks for your comments. Having read the previous reviews (and yours) it appears as though the afore-mentioned business is plagued with mediocrity. If these reviews are anything to go by, then we’ll probably give them a miss. Thanks again, Reeces

Popped in here today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere as very relaxed and there was even live music.

My wife ordered the chicken burger which was huge - fresh chicken breast, bacon, cheese, salad and a tasty sweet chilli dressing.

I had the beer battered fish & chips which was cooked to perfection and came with a mountain of salad that Edmund Hillary would struggle to conquer.

We enjoyed a coffee each both before and after our meal and were not disappointed. The only minor detraction, and indeed it was very minor, was that our waitress forgot to bring teaspoons with our first coffees.

In all it was a really relaxing Sunday lunch and I'd happily recommend it to anyone.

Had the chicken caesar salad here, and the berry and pistachio parfait. It was OK, but not as good as I expected. I was disappointed, this was a nice place to eat when it first opened. A pity, as the location is so nice, it could be really good.

Approximate cost: $25

I think the only reason this place is still in business is because it's right next to Sandy Bay beach, and they must do good coffees.
I went here once and had a chicken burger. Given the price of the burger and what oher restaurants usually serve for cheaper, I was expecting a grilled chicken breast on a burger with plenty of fillings. What I actually got was a minced chicken patty which I wouldn't have bought at the butchers.
When I told staff how disappointing this was for the price (around $20 from memory), they said 'oh but we make it ourselves'. Well that doesn't mean they don't put poor quality chicken and other ingredients in there. While it's great they make it themselves, it didn't make the burger taste any better. I had 1 or 2 bites of the burger, at the chips and left EXTREMELY disappointed.
I notice that they've changed hands now and are under new management, but I was so put off by my last experience I don't know that I'd be game to venture back.

I also had a less than good experience there so quite agree with your sentiments.

After some encounters with very rude staff, including the manageress, I am surprised they are still in business. I will not go back to what used to be my favourite place under previous management. Very sad!

definitely agree. I have found the food unpleasant and staff rude.

I found this restaurant to be extremely over priced for the food they served. All portions were very small. I ordered a steak, which cost about $25, and it took only a few minutes to eat.

I think you pay for the location at this cafe not the food, as the range and quality of the food is not good compared to other places I go. It might be nice to sit at a table outside and have a drink on a nice warm day and look out at the beach, but I wouldn't go there again to eat a meal.

Other people must like it as it is usually busy.
