The corner hotel has been around for ages! I tend to go there when I want to see a band - most people do! The venue is quiet alternative and dark when inside. Which is perfect setting to see a favourite band of mine.

Drinks are reasonably priced. Often there is a wait at the bar but there is always a good crowd when I am there.

I favourite event I want to was Hamish and Andy.

Recently the quality of the food had gone down yet the prices have gone up. Around 4 years ago you could get a bowl of nachos for $7.00. The current price for nachos is $14. The last time i was There 27/06/09 i ordered the Chicken Parma, at $20 i figured it must be pretty special as this is about $5 more than other pubs in the area, but what i received was a small, dry parma with about 7 potato wedges and a basic "pub salad" it was very disappointing. The staff at this place are super friendly and the layout and atmosphere of the front bar and roof top do have the WOW factor but the price of food and drinks is crazy expensive for the quality.

The Corner is a great venue to see live music, and the beer garden is a wonderful place to soak up the sun (or the stars) whilst having a drink. You have to get there early to grab a seat/table though. The food offered from the kitchen is basicl pub fare, but pub fare done well.

I have never eaten at The Corner so I can't comment on the food. But the bar staff are really friendly and The Corner get some of the best amature acts in Melbourne. In that, they have a fantastic band room which has really awesome sound - I'm always excited when my fave bands are playing The Corner

This pub boasts a wicked upstairs outdoor section that is unbeatable on a good sunny day, combine that with a few beers and some of the wedges on selection and you've got a good day under the sun. The down stairs venue is big enough to house some pretty hefty music names but still small enough to hold the pub atmosphere.

Some of the best concerts I've seen have been at the Corner, rightfully a legendary venue on the Melbourne music scene. In the last year, concerts by Yo La Tengo and the Mountain Goats at the corner really blew me away. There's always an interesting band to see at the Corner if you're into Indie music, punk, pub rock and things in that sort of vein - a lot of overseas bands also perform here.

The band room has a few problems with sightlines - the two pillars in the middle of the room can obstruct the view, but the sound has always been good, it's very pleasant now that smoking is banned inside and there's a good range of drinks.

The rooftop beer garden is surprisingly nice given the fairly rough fit-out of the front bar (this is a rock pub, make no mistake) and great for a drink with some mates on a warm evening, with good views of the city.

Good quality food with an excellent outdoor area upstairs. Downstairs can be good depending on what band is on in the main room. Pub service.

Approximate cost: $18
