Mr Birds MYO on ST Kilda road is nothing special at all. The only outstanding thing is that this set up is so very expensive. Your lunch is costed by the weight of it, so just plain salad can cost a lot. Drinks are equally expensive, so over all your lunch can be a lot.
These guys are wonderful because they are always helpful and never condecending. They have a really great range and everything is easy to find. They offer student dscounts and are open on the weekends which is really helpful.
If I had my way I would only ever eat pizza from here because it is so good. Maybe a little expensive, but absolutely worth it. Everytime there is so much topping on the pizza it is great, and the desserts are wonderful, too.
Silly Yaks cater for people with food intolerances, which means that you can go there and know that basically nothing is off limits. It is a really nice feeling. The area is great and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Great for Saturday mornings with the paper.
Make sure you book if you want to eat on the weekend because this place is always packed. And for good reason- the food is wonderful! Sharing mains is the best way to go so you can taste lots of flavours. The staff are really friendly and very happy to help select your menu
Alphabet City is a lovely place to have a relaxing meal any time of day. Very popular during the day for coffees, there is also a back "beer garden" area which is perfect for Summer dinners, especially the really nice Greek salad. Staff are helpful and friendly.
These cinemas always have the latest big movies and also the good independant movies. The ticket prices are fair and the snack bar is good, too. You definately get the feeling you are in an independant cinema. Unfortunately the seats are really uncomforatable so I wouldn't go back - especially for a long movie.
This is my favourite place to eat! Baked potatoes with nearly any filling you can dream of, and not a whole lot else means these guys are experts! The prices are great and the staff are so lovely its a joy to visit! They have a huge wall of local happenings too.
Approximate cost: $10
I have never eaten at The Corner so I can't comment on the food. But the bar staff are really friendly and The Corner get some of the best amature acts in Melbourne. In that, they have a fantastic band room which has really awesome sound - I'm always excited when my fave bands are playing The Corner
The food here is wonderful, although it took a really long time for our food to come out and they made lots of mistakes in our order. However, we were a really large group and everyone ordered seperately so its not all their fault. The sitting on the ground thing gets old if you're there for a long time, but the food really was good.
Approximate cost: $20
