Came here yesterday for a 60th Birthday Sunday Lunch. Beautiful day weather wise, so the shaded beer garden was quite packed. Even the inside dining area was full. I had chosen the schnitzel, which unfortunately was barely warm when I got it, with the chips being the same. Disappointing. However, the other 14 people at the table were all happy with the size and quality of their meals, so maybe I was just unlucky. Prices do seem to be a bit more expensive than other hotels but guess that's due to the area. On a sunny day, the outdoor area is definitely the place to be. Most hotels don't have beer gardens anymore so it's lovely to find one as nice as this one is. Would definitely go back.

Had a lunch here with a group for a catch up from a long time ago. Lovely setting both inside and out. Staff friendly and relaxed. The gentlemen thoroughly enjoyed their salt and pepper squid but the ladies were not so pleased with their meat meals. Should have followed the examples set by their husbands. Met up with my "old" work friends here and had a good chat and meal in this pleasant setting. The chicken schnitzel with a choice of sauce for an extra dollar was very tasty. I have been to two functions at the Edinburgh and also eaten dinner here several times. The food has been great each time. The ambiance is excellent at night in particular with lots of lights and there is a small beer garden that is very popular. The service is generally good although on the last occasion I had to chase up the staff a few times. Unfortunately since the stairs from the carpark to the dining area are not disability friendly, one using a mobility aid must walk the long way around. So expect a reasonably long walk if this applies to you. Overall, I would certainly recommend this well-known local pub.

Another birthday party, beautiful setting (great for a wedding reception) very busy (obviously popular) but the service, whilst professional, was very slow and I had to chase waiters. Food very nice, but expensive, but you pay for the setting.

A lovely place to go. They have a great beer garden with a good atmosphere and the food is always really good.

Why I put the overall as three stars was because of one booking phone call requesting a table for a family lunch with small children and was told they did not appreciate the children moving from the table! with a 3 & 5 year old (usually very well behaved) but not really being able to stay seated for 2-3 hours. I did not book for this lunch. But the meals and service on other times have been great.

I have come here several times over several years now for different events. The place is beautiful, easy to park and the food is great. But recently when I tried to book a table for lunch, the person was useless, she didn't listen and didn't really portray the hotel as a child friendly place. I will try again, but hope that I don't encounter the same staff member

Charming hotel with a great atmosphere. Staff are usually friendly and helpful and the meals have always been tasty and satisfying. Good menu and decent wine list too.

The food is always delicious and great quality. Nice atmosphere. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend.
