Meals have really improved over the last few months and the salad bar is one of the best in Adelaide. I'd would pay just for salad bar if that was an option!

The Exeter Hotel is an Adelaide institution! There is a lovely restaurant on the first floor, with a great balcony, and a biergarden with live music. It's a place where the cute young things go on the weekend, so it's sometimes hard to get a table on a Friday night. If you're here to visit Adelaide, the Exeter is a great place to come to enjoy the nightlife!

Good food, good drinks, good location.
It's so nice to sit out in the sun on a glorious day and watch people pass by while you eat and drink.

Went for our Business Lunch on a very hot day. There was NO airconditioning of any type and there were many people.
Suffice to say, people were very uncomfortable and there were many a sweaty body. Not the most pleasant place to be, especially if you have to go back to work in that condition

Otherwise, food and drinks were average for any pub

Bacon is NOT a condiment!! Therefore I expect to see it mentioned on the menu when reading the description of the burgers I am ordering.

We ordered some burgers from here for lunch and after specifically asking whether the beef burger I was planning on ordering had bacon in it, and told no, i was unpleasantly surprised to find it in my burger when it was delivered to my table.

Staff were apologetic but we had to wait what seemed a very long time to get our orders in the first place, and then to wait again for a new burger was just not a good dining experience. My partner had finished his burger when mine arrived (and he is a slow eater!)

The chicken burger did outline on the menu that it came with bacon so it was very annoying when it wasnt mentioned the burger I was ordering.

The exeter is renowned for its' curries. I don't even like curry that much, and I still like theirs. They also do standard pub fare well.

The reason people keep coming back to the exeter though, isn't for the food. It's for the culture and atmosphere. It's one of THE places to drink on a Friday or Saturday night, and on week nights too, you'll find a great band playing or djs playing old records.

If you're from interstate, and you're looking for a great pub, you need to visit the Exeter!

I don't think we will go back here. The food was nice but I didn't feel the place was very clean at all. It seemed to be mainly people going there after work in the city and was loud and not intimate. Service was ok but could really improve.

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Standard pub food available including really nice sized snitty's. very laid back.
