A lovely gift shop. I always come here when I visit Hahndorf. Plenty of beautifully scented candles and they gave me free soap samples.

Beautiful store selling a range of exceptional gifts and items.

We had a look around this store during our visit to the lovely town of Hahndorf.

I was so impressed after seeing for the first time such exquisite wooden crafted items imported from Germany, particularly the Pyramids which are handmade wooden items of different designs (including my personal favourite - xmas!) which hold tea light candles. When the candle is lit the fan moves around as a result of the heat of the candle

Be prepared they are very costly but according to the sales assistant, these items are originals and come from a small German town.

Staff are friendly and do not mind customers browsing and admire!

The candles here are not particularly cheap but still worth it. The quality is exceptional, the service always great and the range is extensive. Great candles, lots of fabulous candle holders and they give good advice. Every time I visit Hahndorf I HAVE to buy one or two more candles.

I have been going here since i was a teenager, i love candles and i am very very picky, but i will always find something im going to love in this store, the smells saturate your senses, by far one of the best candle shops in adelaide, and definately worth the drive

Mmm... Where to start?
You go into this store that looks like all the other nice artsy stores of the main street. But when you're inside, then the smells saturate your senses and the imagery plays on the mind!
The actual candles themselves are made well and can smell great. You can usually pick the match of the smell with the name. Even when you don't know what the name is, you'll think that the name picked is a good representation of the smell.

Approximate cost: $mod

I discovered the Hahndorf Candlemaker a few years ago and was delighted with his candles. They actually smell different to each other - most candle shops you go into have a range of candles, but they all end up smelling much the same. Some of the gigantic candles on display in the shop make amazing wax sculptures as they burn down. I don't like in SA any more, but I always get family to buy me a candle and bring it over on holidays for me. You can also order your favourite candles online at the Hahndorf Candlemaker website.

The Candle man has been around for ages and is a bit of an institution in hahndorf. The store stocks a range of handmade candles with scents ranging from woody, fruity, spicy to floral. The candles are very well priced and burn for a long time, eg 30 hours +
