I read great things about the hotel, even though I travel to Melbourne quite often, never stayed here. That is until my last trip.

Great service and great people. Loved pretty much everything about the place. Price wise, I dont' think I could complain about it. I got in and got out before the holiday season, so it was quite easy on my wallet.

I stayed at this Grand and Wonderful old hotel quite a few years ago with my Mum. We felt like we were Queens and the staff treated us like this.

The food was just magnificent and the atmosphere was great. The room we stayed in felt like the Grandest place ever.

A fantastic place to stay.

Great to pledge once in a while.

Well worth the visit.

The Hotel Windsor's afternoon tea is renowned and I finally got around to redeeming a voucher for tea for 2 that I got for my birthday last year. I'm glad I took the chance before heading home to Brisbane because it's a truly enjoyable experience. You receive a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, followed by delicious afternoon tea (don't eat any lunch beforehand!) including scones, sweet treats and the best sandwiches you'll ever taste. Of course there's a range of tea available too.

A nice little touch from the manager was that seeing as my voucher was for a weekend session and we booked in for a weekday session (we did this purposely, knowing we'd forfeit the $10 in value difference) they still gave me a tin of the Windsor Hotel tea to compensate, which was very sweet seeing as they were under no obligations to do so.

Highly recommend to head there if you get a chance - a great outing to do if you're in Melbourne from out of town, or to take someone who's visiting!

I went with my Mum about 20 years ago and we stayed overnight. It was marvellous. The Windsor is grand, old wordly and a wonderful place to visit.

Favourite hotel in Melbourne. We love the old fashioned service. The doorman always makes us feel welcome. Breakfast is worth the price

I had my engagement party here and had such a wonderful experience. All the suppliers they recommended were fantastic and they made things very easy for us. I wish I had my wedding here instead of the engagement, would have been much easier to organize.

Delightful.
Service was very attentive, without being ever present and intrusive. (I'm sure the waitstaff have a 3rd sense... they are always there whenever you want them... but withdraw immediately and never linger longer than necessary)
The food is perfect. A well balanced range of flavours, and the kitchen is always happy to accommodate to suit any dietary needs.
As for the surrounds - beautiful! You will not find anything close to it in Melbourne (apart from Government House, which is not open to the general public) .
An opulence that is tasteful and elegant, without being extravagant (aka Crown)
A diamond in a haystack.

Approximate cost: $30

The environment and the interior design was very fascinating to look at, and made our dining experience much more enjoyable. It made us feel comfortable, coming along with good food and service. Their dishes served to us during dinner was delicious, it was a good environment to dine!

The high tea at the Windsor was lovely. Full of old world charm and a reminder of a time long past!
Was a little disappointed with the quantity of the sandwiches. . .and the fact that they had advertised a range of teas and we were only offered one type (we love our tea!) but overall it was brilliant.

Approximate cost: $49-00pp

We went for a 'Chocolate Indulgence' high-tea, and found it to be an experience to remember. Of course, The Windsor is very pricey, but you're paying for the service, the ambiance and bragging-rights!
For a special occasion to remember, the Windsor is the perfect choice!

Approximate cost: $65
