Dined here with family. We all enjoyed high tea, two of us with champagne. What a gorgeous location and the food was exceptional. I was so surprised when I couldn't eat it all. We even had the pleasure of watching a kookaburra fly in to take a customers sandwich. Our table had quite a chuckle.
There are a lot of stairs to get down to the gunners barracks, so if you have a family member with walking difficulties, mention this when making the booking as there is a boom gate to enter for access to the front door, however no parking so you will need to take your car back to the top.
My sisters and I took my mum here for Mother's day. The four of us had the high-tea. It's the best place in Sydney for high tea. The view from the outdoor area where we sat is absolutely amazing, especially if it is a bright sunny day.
I went there for Afternoon tea with girl friends...it was lovely!
Good food, great location and divine ambiance. However the decoration needs to be refresh and staff need more experience....some of them where very young!
Approximate cost: $40
Took some visitors to the gunners barracks on Monday and was pleasantly surprised. Not only by the amazing views. We went there for lunch and I had the scallops as a starter followed by the Ocean Trout and both dishes were perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and the restaurant manager recommended a beautiful austrian sauvignon blanc. Will be back soon. Thank you very much for a very pleasant afternoon.
