I usually visit Tonsley for dinner on quiz nights which is every wednesday from 7-9. The food and drinks there are at a fair price and the servers there are usually very friendly.

Had the senior's lunch deal today and was very pleased with the 2 course meal for 15 dollars. Either soup and main or main and dessert. Choice of main dish available. I had the beer battered hake and it was delicious. Well cooked and not greasy. The cheesecake was good too. Well appointed dining room with friendly staff who work in a timely way. Very pleasant venue. Looking forward to returning

The Tonsley Hotel has been renovated and is now a pleasant place to have a meal. The senior's menu with two courses for $15.00 is good value and the roast meal I had was well cooked. The bistro menu has a variety of choices from salads, burgers to waygu beef (Pricey). Worth visiting to see the change and enjoy a different dining place

This place certainly has changed since I was last there in my early twenties. Used to have a reputation as a bit of a rough place but it has certainly given itself a make over. The atmosphere was pleasant and the meals were good. The place has been renovated and spruced up and now looks like a nice place to have a meal or a drink. A bit sad that it has lost a little of it uniqueness, but at least you can sit and be relaxed here now. Service was friendly and the meals were delivered to us in a timely fashion. Would eat here again if I was in the area.

Had Sunday lunch with the family today at the Tonsley. It's been 35 years since I was last in this pub (it's not that I didnt like it then, just dont live nearby). Still looks a nice, modern pub. Has been kept up-to-date.
The Chrysler Bar, with half a bright orange Charger mounted on a wall, and another old (front-end) of a Valiant above the bar area are sensational, especially for a nostalgic Aussie classic car enthusiast like myself.
There is a drive-in bottle shop at the front, motel-style accomodation at the back, and a nice bistro dining area on the other side of the building.
We had lunch in the bistro. Nice and spacious, with a stage area and piano in one corner, for entertainment nights, I guess. Our meals were served quickly; there were only about 15 people dining at the time.
I had salt & pepper squid for $17.50. Very nicely cooked, tasty side salad and chips. Other family members had chicken parmy, $17.50/half; $19.50 full serve. They were happy with their meals as well.
There is a nice outdoor eating area as well, wooden raised deck, glassed in, with wooden seating and umbrellas for shade. We enjoyed our meal here.
Probably won't wait another 35 years to return again!!

Without being rude, seems like a place for the 'oldies'. The buffet however is quite delish and the service friendly.

Meeting up with friends for after work drinks, the first impression of this place was of your standard low key pub. But after a bit, you notice there's more! They sometimes have nibbles go round and there's more to see here than meets the eye. There's plenty of tv's around for sports viewers and their attached restaurant is a delight! I had the Tonsley Burger which came with chips and I must say that I quite enjoyed it.

Approximate cost: $12-$20
