Enjoyed lunch here with a group of friends that have not met since January 2020. The tables were well spaced and the food was great. The mini pavlova was $3 on special for dessert. We all enjoyed our get together and there was no pressure to leave. Would visit here again.

We had our Christmas catch up with our friends here. It is a nice hotel with a senior's menu and a normal menu. Both these menus are well priced. The bistro area is large and the tables are well spaced and therefore it has a nice ambience and we could hear each other speak. My salad of smoked salmon and prawns was tasty and enjoyable. My husband enjoyed his meal but I can not remember what he chose. Too busy talking.

Change of pace today and lunch at the Tonsley Hotel with old friends. Nice senior's menu and my grilled fish was very nicely cooked. Nice dessert included in the $16.50 price. As usual our group was the last to leave as we talk a lot. Not a problem with the staff which is great.

I'd forgotten how good this hotel is. Four of us had lunch and all meals were great - the steaks were cooked just right, as were the schnitzels. Friendly service and no pressure to leave means that we'll go back.

One of my favourite local hotels - have never been disappointed.

Another excellent meal here last night.
This seems to be the only Hotel we go to, where they cook your steaks exactly how you asked for them - well done is no pink and not dry or burnt. Perfect!! I refuse to order a steak anywhere else due to countless disappointments. The accompanying vegetables (Mash potato, onion rings and a steamed mix) were also top rate. The side roll with butter was fresh too. A great night - again :)

Approximate cost: $28

I like they have the drive through bottle shop.
The prices in the bottle shop are generally cheaper than in the bar, but then you don't get the service and you have to open your own bottle *exasperation*

This is a great place to catch up with a few mates for drink and a meal. Was extremely busy last week but still they still managed to serve us promptly. We all enjoyed some excellent steaks and a few drinks aswell. Will have to take my wife here as she has been asking.

Good place still after all these years.
They have this plate of sliders in the bar section that we always enjoy getting.
Otherwise, there's a good range of drinks and it has good atmosphere

Enjoyed a senior's lunch here with my ladies who like to talk. The menu for 2 courses was $16 and a good range of choices. The pavlova with cream and blue berries was mouth watering. A large bistro area in a modern and clean setting. Plenty of parking at the side and rear of hotel. No pressure to leave which is always great.

Been here many times as it's the closest hotel to where we live but the food has always been good too.
With that in mind, when the topic of a venue for our Work Christmas Dinner came up, The Tonsley was first choice!
We had our Work Christmas Function (Nov 2014), in the Hamilton Room, shared with some other unknown diners.
Nikki (functions manager), was a joy to deal with over the preceding 2 months. Always helpful, pleasant and kept in touch via email and phone. She was also there on the night and checked in on us, to make sure all was okay. Thank you.

The table was beautifully decorated with tinsel, gift boxes, red and green napkins and a Santa in the middle.
The food was very good - we had the $50 dinner which was 3 courses - 2 choices with the entrees and Deserts and 3 choices with the main meal.
The Poached Tiger Prawns with mango dressing for entrée, were just divine.
My choice for the main meal was the Atlantic Salmon with basil aioli - perfectly presented on a salad. Just delicious.
My partner chose the Crispy Skinned Chicken - he said it tasted great but was ruined when he got to the centre of it and found it wasn't cooked properly - the blood was near the bone but parts of the actual meat was still quite red as well.
Desert was very difficult to decide on, as they both sounded so good - so we chose one of each and shared.
Neither of us was disappointed - The pavlova was light and had a 'touch of tart' with the berries.
The mouse was more like an ice cream, with a fairy floss topping - very smooth, not overly sweet and extremely 'moreish'.
The service was pretty good - always friendly and fairly quick.
With the exception of the partly raw chicken dish, it was a great night ... 9/10!
We will definitely be back and continue to count it as our local favourite!
