l recently boarded my two beloved cats at Top Cat l would like to express my gratitude to Annette owner of cattery my cats settled back at home with no stress or anxiety which contributes to the dedicated care she gives to the animals in her care she is very passionate which was obvious from our first meeting l would recommend her for piece of mind in boarding your furry friends thank you again l will be back Colleen Morgan Mt Duneed Geelong

Would never ever take my cats anywhere else!!!
This is the cleanest and best facility with someone who is passionate about looking after your cat/s!!!!
The hours were made very clear to me from the start and if I wanted to get my cats looked after at the best cattery I have ever seen, then I worked to those hours and it was pretty damn easy, not too hard when you are prepared!
You will not get a better carer for your cat/s, I have been going there for 7 years, never ever had a hint of a problem or concern with Annette.

Off on holiday tomorrow all orgainised, then I get a call from the cattery stating that they are closed Wednesday and I can't pick cat up until Thursday I said will I be charged she said yes. I said this is strange she said she always has Wednesday off and employs a person to do the cleaning on that day, and told me their were plenty of Catterns to go to and hung up.

I understand that people have days off but that should not stop running a business especially a cattery running 7 days a week. Very disappointing attitude and customer service. USER BEWARE.

Jenny ,It's unfortunate that you feel that way. As a customer who has left her cat "Eva" with me previously you should be aware of my hours etc. It was very unfortunate that the staff member did not notice that your pick up date was a closed day when you booked. I rang to rectify the error and explained that I have never opened Wednesdays in 9 years you called it "questionable" and asked if you would have to pay extra. Yes you are charged for another day but I didn't have the opportunity to explain that if you picked up between 8 and 9 am on the day you would only pay until the night before. This is standard practice.
I did suggest that there are other catteries open Wednesdays that would better suit your needs as you were not happy with me being closed .
I'm happy to hear that you agree that people should have days off. My business does not stop because I close Wednesdays and Sundays to the public. When I get up early Xmas morning and work through to lunch time, same at Easter, my childrens birthdays, weddings, all public holidays etc, I will go to work and be able to say to myself " At least Jenny Wright understands that I should have days off!"

When I inspected the premises, I was impressed by the facilities, so made a booking. It looks like someone's lounge room rather than a conventional cattery. However, the owner's attitude leaves a lot to be desired. The drop off / pick up hours are quite restrictive compared to most, and when I dropped my cat off 5 minutes before their closing time I was berated because she had "other things" to do. My booking was for three weeks, and I was charged a higher rate for the last two days because it was the first weekend of the school holidays. It was only a few extra dollars but that, combined with the distinctly unfriendly attitude, means that I won't go there again. Maybe it's a case of her relating better to animals than people, but it's the people that make the decisions and pay the money. My cat appears to have been well looked after in pleasant surroundings but I'll be looking elsewhere next time.

Thank you for your feedback regarding my boarding facility.

Unfortunately you may have forgotten the necessary requirements regarding drop off. All first time customers are required to have cats checked in in the first hour and a half of business. This gives us time to have you cat settled in before closing. Some cats by nature are very nervous and need supervision for a period of time in case of a panic attack. Unfortunately your arrival 5 minutes before closing did not allow for this.

I do dispute your comment on being charged extra for school holidays as Topcat cattery charges a flat rate for the entire year.

My duty of care is towards all customers cats. I strive to have all experience a comfortable and relaxed stay, as your cat experienced.

This is an attractive looking cattery in a rural environment, sounds good in theory. Probably is for the cats. My experience with the business owner still amazes me. I was met with rudeness upon delivering my feline friend. Was hung up on when making a phone enquiry about collection time. On collection of my feline friend was confronted with two rude individuals who attempted to intimidate me (lone 5' female). Was then instructed to never return.

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay at top cat cattery.
Regarding you experience, I was serving another customer when you arrived with your cat and children which resulted in you having a short wait. Unfortunately your children were not on their best behaviour which resulted in me having to ask them to quieten down and behave. I do not in any way enjoy doing this but their behaviour was unacceptable in my boarding facility. After your cat was checked in and pick up hours and dates were confirmed, you wanted to bring your children past reception and into the staff only area. As the sign states no children beyond this point. The refusal upset you even though the children could see the whole facility from reception.
Your day of pickup was a public holiday. You called 30 minutes before closing time stating that you wanted to stay longer on the Bellarine and would be in later to pick your cat up. The hours had been discussed when you booked and re confirmed when you dropped off. I stated that if you missed the open hours today your next pick up would be the next morning. This conversation went on with you again unhappy because I wouldn't change my public holidays hours.
Your manner was such that I called on one of my daughters to come to the cattery to be with me when you arrive.
Animal care is seven days a week every day of the year, hence the restricted hours for drop off and pick up. It is unfortunate that Top cat cattery didn't meet your requirements but you booked knowing the hours.
My duty of care is to the animals entrusted to me, we have strict rules when it comes to children in the facility and farewells are best said at home.
