The owner would have to be the rudest person I have ever met! We arrived and we were starving. We stood for 20 minutes before even being acknowledged and even there were 5 tables vacant, the owner made us stand for another 10 minutes before we could sit down. 25 minutes later we ordered our food. 2 hours and 10 minutes after entering the restaurant we were served our food! The food was delicious but my friend (who is a member) was accused of being greedy as she did not chew each mouth full 30 times before swallowing. The whole thing was an absolute nightmare and I will never go back.

In Sydney we have so much choice when it comes to restaurants. Most restaurant owners bend over backwards to make you feel welcome because they know they have competition around the corner. This owner is not like that. She will abuse you at the drop of a hat. I am now a regular diner at her ex husband's restaurant around the corner where I have always been made to feel welcome.

Approximate cost: $30

She went mad!!!! Yukako went on a rampage that has sent most of her loyal clientele running. Long wait times. Longer Lectures. Unexpected increase in serve sizes. And other irrational behaviours has made it impossible to eat with this culinary Nazi. Oh and forget it if you are not a member you will be turned away. ( let her know she lost the war! )

Hi X-Bread, This is a very sad situation indeed and could have been prevented with a display of some 'basic' manners. Businesses these days simply cannot expect to treat customers in a 'negative' manner and still survive. It appears as though the residents of Sydney have spoken, but we cannot help but feel that a brilliant restaurant has disappeared unnecessarily. Regards, Reeces

I love the rolled sushi, Especially cucumba and carrot. Tranquil setting. Deliscious home style japanese cuisine. Three quarters of the menu is marked vegan. Chef goes out of her way to accommodate dietary requirements. check it out. great place. I have tried heaps of stuff here and have a lot of favourites.

Ok so it's not a cheesy Japanese cliche' and there starts the charm. You can do your makeup in the reflection you get from the fresh sashimi. The owner is obsessed with quality and devotes one side of the kitchen to being vegetarian so that there is no cross contamination. There is a deep philosophy that drives this business. Staff have been sacked for smelling of cigarettes. And customers are bemused by the brown rice sushi. I was told on one occasion that there was no tuna and i enquired if they had run out and was told that there was none that was suitable at the market. It is surprisingly cheap and amazingly big serving sizes. You may get turned away if she is a bit busy. It's worth being gracious and accepting of a very different style of dining. My favourite resturant to take fussy eaters. High on my list of favourite eating spots in Sydney. 2 people and a bottle of wine are repleat at about $78 which is unheard of.

This Japanese restaurant offers gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, and don't use refined sugar.
Wafu is a professional certificate member of The Coeliac Society.
Although their service can be a little slow at times, they offer great quality food. No guilty feelings after eating here~!
