i went to Wendon as a middle aged almost beginner.I spent 17 years there, made lifelong pals and enjoyed every moment. i worked hard and did many exams, where I won 12 "medals". eventually started training to teach. There was always something new!

Teacher bullied my daughter for forgetting her props during the concert. Blame it on me, not the child. Other choices in S.E. Melbourne where you get treated with integrity even if owner is a renown international judge.

Locals don't stay with this dance school for too long. Over priced and a horrible place for kids. We stuck it out for a year but the teachers were cruel to my little girl & other students. Punished them if they didn't get their toes pointing correctly! The venue is very unhygienic with the owner's dogs (one a scary looking alsation) roaming around. Dance shoes came home disgusting each week with fur and traces of who knows from the dogs, stuck to the soles. Classes run all through the school year with no break for the holidays which is a bit much and also adds to the cost. At concert time mothers weren't allowed in the changing rooms to assist with their young children's costume changes. Concert performances were too strict and way too long a day & night for young children. No fun for them at all. Much more fun yet professional dance schools around.

Very professional instructors but very old school method used to teach ballroom dance. Studio is very old and dim inside and in need of renovation. The price is reasonable given the quality of the instructors. The owners are very well known in the ballroom industry and are international ballroom competition judges. I would highly recommend this place if you don't mind old school methods of teaching.

We took out a package for our wedding dance consisting of 5 lessons of 1 hour each. The owner (Don), who was also our appointed instructor didn't show up in the first lesson and someone else had to stand in for him 15 minutes later. The next two lessons we only got 40 minutes as the instructor was late. He was rude, condescending and unapologetic. The only upside? He employs some staff who are very nice but that is not enough to cover his unprofessional behaviour. Although it is not pricey, Wendon has added a whole new dimension to the saying: "You get what you pay for". I wish someone had told us before we signed up there!
