Had Whywait check my continuous flow gas hot water service, agreed it needed replacement. Gave me a quote, could not find stock locally and said it would take 3 or 4 days to come in. I checked with office to ask what they had quoted since only a code on the quote form; was told identical unit to what I had (a Bosch). Unit arrived as expected, install was arranged for next day. All good so far. Guys arrived, I had earlier phoned the office and asked if they could install a bathroom basin tap I had purchased while they were on site, no worries. I was busy elsewhere, let them do their job. Then comes the bill! I had agreed to the quote $1680 for the hot water, then they charged me an unbelievable $340 for a 15 minute install while they were already on site of a tap I had supplied !! "That's our standard fee" was the only response, even when I called the office to complain, same story, "That's what it costs us, that's our standard charge" No interest in discussion, just simple stonewalling tactic to keep repeating the same line. Then I went outside to look at the hot water: Not only did they install a completely different unit to what they had quoted and confirmed to me (and what I had before) it is not even the same size and does not fit correctly in the recess; on top of that it is fitted out of alignment. I had a Bosch, they quoted a Bosch, then installed a different size and capacity Rheem without so much as a whisper to me that was what they were doing. So, ended up I got what I found was an $800 (retail) hot water service that I did not order and was not quoted on installed for $1680, and my own tap installed for $340 by a mob of highway robbers that refuse to discuss anything. Guess who I will use next time I need a plumber -NOT.

1. Our onsite Plumber did advise you that Bosch no longer manufacture the same unit and advised that we would need to use a Rheem unit. .
2. You have forgotten to mention that we also installed Isolation taps under the mixer tap which is a requirement by law and the manufacturers warranty. This is not a 15 minute job as the Plumber had to go to the street turn off the water, disconnect and remove the old faulty tap, Install the new isolation taps and new mixer tap and then turn the water back on and check everything was working correctly.
3. You were provided a discounted price of 10% and were informed over the telephone we do not charge time and materials and charge fixed menu pricing which allows us to provide all our clients with an upfront price. Giving them the option to proceed if they wish. You were advised of the upfront pricing before any work was carried out and could have chosen not to proceed, but chose to proceed.
4. If there is a issue with the installation of the hws I would suggest you contact our office so we can rectify oppose to posting a negative review.

Dear Brad Operations Manager, obviously I disagree with much of what you say and consider you are stretching the truth somewhat. Both you and Nathan the onsite plumber advised you were getting a Bosch replacement and neither of you told me differently. I can guarantee the tap install took no more than 20 minutes tops, isolation taps would account for the extra 5 minutes perhaps; after all I presume he is a trade qualified plumber. I was "provided" a 10% discount because I pre-paid a $118 fee in the mistaken belief that I was dealing with a professional company and would use you again. I agreed to the price in advance on the same premise - that you were professional and would provide services to a standard equivalent to the prices you charge. Yes, that was my mistake: I was wrong. As for contacting the office before posting a negative review it was you who stonewalled me and would not enter into a discussion, and that was before I even inspected the hws install. If you don't want negative reviews of your company get rid of the attitude and take some customer service lessons.

Complete rip off, terrible manager, wanted to charge $5000 for a job I ended up getting completed for $500! Didn’t itemise their quote so couldn’t see where this ridiculous amount was coming from. Manager didn’t want to discuss or explain the exorbitant quote. Very rude. Not the first time they’ve blatantly overcharged from what I hear. Be aware of this company!

Whywait's customer service was excellent. Office staff were really courteous and professional, talked to me about my plumbing problem and service staff arrived right on time with a text and phone reminder beforehand. Marshall was the lead tech and he was really polite and friendly,gave us what we thought was a quite reasonable quote straight up and got stuck into the job. He was not just fast and efficient, he was also clean and neat with the job, and took the trouble to explain a few things that would be helpful in future. You couldn't ask for more, really. Top marks.

Professional service from beginning to end and best of all did not try to screw me because it was a Saturday. I love professionalism so I was impressed with the plumber turning up with some mean looking equipment to clear my drain. Best part was that they cleared the drain then put a video camera down to show me the drain was all clear and my drain was not broken.

The plumber caused major damage to our house and didn't take responsibility for it. We had to rip up carpets due to the water damage. When we complained they treated us so badly. They never fixed the damage and never apologised. I hope nobody else has to go through the stress and heartache we did - use a different plumbing service

I will admit that I have fairly limited knowledge and experience with plumbers, so when I say these guys are good it is not by comparison but rather just their direct impact on my.
Having been a renter for ever, it was always someone else's problem when anything went wrong... Oh how I miss those days :)
Anyway, Whywait are based down the Gold Coast, but service the Beenleigh area too, thus my experience with them.
Issues with the toilet of the serious, deal with right now, things going the wrong direction kind occurred and we really needed someone out quickly.
The guy showed up quickly, was nice and polite, actually bothered to explain what was going on and did his diagnostic thing. Sadly for us the diagnostic results lead to about 5 hours of work needing to be done, but again, the situation was completely explained and dealt with quickly. Whilst I will never know if trade type people are ripping me off cause I am a woman, at least this one didn't make me feel like that is what was going on, which for me is a happy win!
Whilst I hope no one has any overflowing toilet issues that actually require emergency plumbing services, if you should find yourself in need of help, they are worth the call.
