The food here is so great and the prices are so good - only takes around 3 buns to fill you up. There are only a few seats around though.

They've got some really nice, cheap bao here. The char siu/barbecue pork and egg custard buns are the highlight for me, but the other buns are also pretty good. Always good for a quick, delicious lunch.

Very interesting baos that are also very delicious. The homemade soya milk is great too. Superb value but don't expect fine dining. Hardly any space to sit so think takeaway or walk and eat! Must try if you're downtown.

Great tasty baos here, some mixed packs available. a little hard to find down a corridor, and tiny - only 4-5 seats. but the buns are amazing, so its worth standing up for!

Lovely baos sold here, especially the char siu bao which is only $2.70! Great and affordable prices, would recommend!

good value for money and they have good deals as well with a bao of each kind in a pack. Their soy milk is also warm and fresh! Definitely a quieter place to go to enjoy something on the go as well

I went to Wonderbao during my trip to Melbourne, the place was so hidden that if you blink you'll miss it. I ordered several baos and the one that ended up being my favourite was the one with pork belly.

tiny, hidden place with decent and many options to choose from

had two of the tofu ones, which was surprisingly very filling! line was quite massive since we went in lunch time so was the rush hour but the wait wasn't too bad - pretty efficient

virtually no seating inside so it's ideal for those who need food to go

This restaurant is good for everyone who want to take snack. they provide char siu bao with blood red pork and cheung chay bao. The bao is very delicious and cheap. The service is very quick. Beside that , they provide big pot of soya milk into cups. The drink is warm and suitable for winter season. Moreover , you can other snack for example: roast pork bun around 4.5 dollar and the egg custard bun $2 dollar. It will not dissapointed if u go to this place.

Approximate cost: $4-6

they are pretty good. with their special type baos. the special baos are a lil expensive for their size but definitely worth a try. they have a wide range of selection and also types you wont find elsewhere. the shop however, its hard to locate

Bao (steamed buns) have become a bit of an addiction for me - the silky tofu bao to be precise. It's always packed with people but it's worth the wait. My carnivore partner loved the pork, if fact he went back for thirds.

that silky tofu one is so good! and so filling too!

I've heard a few people raving about this place lately so decided to try it out since I was in the area for lunch. Took me a while to find their shop but I should have kept an eye out for a small store packed with people! Bit of a wait to get served but it was so worth it. I had the open bun as recommended by our server and it was so good. That good and cheap mind you we decided to go back for seconds and we would have if there wasn't an even bigger line than before! Will be back soon!

This place sells baos (chinese term for bread item) only - however in terms of baos, they offer a good range to choose from: Sweet, savoury, meat, vegetarian ...
We sampled a range: Da Pork Bao (3.2), Char Sui (2), Taro (1.7), Braised Pork Belly Gua Bao (3.8).
Everything was good, well made & fresh - as you would expect for a cafe selling buns the size of a child's fist at the above prices. Tastewise, we were not blown away - Nam Loong (Russell St) sells equally decent baos, which are slightly larger & cheaper.
The exception is the split/open gua baos - like a chinese version of an arepa, which is then topped with excellent creative ingredients ie. a thick slice of braised pork belly with tangy mustard greens and crushed peanuts
For $3.8 this is a worth coming back for.

This cafe has amazing food ... affordable for anyone to buy their food..

Tasty buns (I had the tofu and vegetable buns) and the dumplings are massive actually...

Recommend this place..

babenreviewer 17 Oct 2014

yeah they're a lot bigger than your average dumplings
