I cannot drive past Yatala Pies without getting an apple pie with cream. This pie would have to be one of the yummiest apple pies I have ever eaten.
Yatala Pies has a drive-thru service which is extremely convenient. The range of pies available is excellent - both savoury and sweet. Their sausage rolls are also awesome.
Yatala Pies can get extremely busy on weekends. They also do not have EFTPOS available although they do have an ATM on the premises.

Approximate cost: $3+

Yumyumyum! This is the best pie shop around and is always a compulsory stop when heading down to the Gold Coast/ Byron. They have individual serves of sweet and savoury pies as well as family sized too. Always fresh but usually a queue right out of the door and no spots in the carpark.

Everyone knows Yatala pies are the best but when i went in the shop the service is just as great. There was a long line of people but the staff got through them effeciently. The pies were wonderful!

This has been our regular stopover on the way to the Gold Coast to get our fill of steak and mushroom pie. The highlight of these pies used to be the large chunks of actual meat but this seems to have disappeared in recent times despite the price rises. Could it be the GFC? The "Trademan Pie" claims to have bacon, egg and meat but we could hardly find any egg or bacon. Probably best to stick with the regular menu. Despite the downside, we'll still be back.

The different flavours is what brings you back. There's usually a long wait but it's worth it. Always fresh. always hot , hot, hot. Great place to meet along the highway. Relax & enjoy.

The Yatala Pie Shop is an institution so you MUST try one of their pies. My favourite is the steak, bacon and cheese and my girlfriend enjoys their chicken pie. The secret is their pastry is good and so are in the insides - you can actually see pieces of meat! They also have lots of sweet pastry items too like the old fashioned match stick and long donut with jam and cream. All yummy.
