Had a terrible experience here and would not even recommend this place to my enemies. It was my birthday dinner at this dump yesterday that my wife had organised only for the Tappanyaki show because I had never experienced it. We had Tappanyaki but there was NO show last night. Just a mute, school dropout, chef chopping up some meat and veges with no interaction or friendliness at all. Do you know what Tappanyaki is with no show? Its just bland BBQ meat and vege's with some bland sauce. After my wife complained, they bought out a single scoop ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday to me. Geez thanks guys, that really made up for it!!! You ended a perfect day with a bitter taste. You don't deserve this star!!! If you want to waste $250+ for an hour of boredom and eat some bland food, go right ahead and head down to this dump, otherwise head to another restaurant.

I've been here twice and each time the food was average, and the prices were high. I expect a bit more for my dollar, but having said that, the service is attentive.

Absolutely incredible. Such kind, friendly service and the food was sensational. If you want fresh, traditional and a great variety of Japanese food, this is the place to go.

The teppanyaki chefs are amazing! They're fantastic at making it more than just a dinner. Their set menu for teppanyaki has something for everyone.

Have only been for a la carte. Food is decent, I especially like the eggplant with sweet miso paste. Service is good. Price a little above average.

Although it is a Teppenyaki restaurant we've mostly come here for their a la carte menu, especially their bento boxes. These are exceptional and give you a variety of authentic Japanese tasties to sample.
The ambiance at this restaurant is very nice as well with 4 large teppenyaki sections (for those so inclined) and very nice decorations. The service staff area also uniformed in traditional Japanese costume which lends a bit of authenticity to their product.
Portions are generous for the a la carte menu. The one time my brother-in law got the teppenyaki I thought the portion was a little on the small side, but I guess it's more the entertainment factor when you get teppenyaki.
This is a high end restaurant so meals are going to be pricey but it is worth it if you're looking for a good fancy meal. Bookings are recommended because they are quite popular and tables fill up fast.

( Teppanyaki) The food was gorgeous, we had set menu B and chose the eye fillet which was superb. Although the potato slices were yummy, the color didn't look appetizing due to being pre-cooked. Not entertaining like some Teppanyaki restaurants but that's ok because we don't like our food being thrown at us. The chef was servicing 2 tables at once and for some reason muddled up the sequence between the 2 tables. eg. the other party arrived while we ate entree, yet we had to wait till after they'd had their main cooked/served for our main.

Update 1/4/13: Dropped in for dinner but didn't feel like the full Teppanyaki banquet. So we asked for alacarte table for 2 and ordered 2 main dishes to share. The food was sensational and the staff very friendly.

Don't mistake my rating here for disatisfaction. I have eaten here twice and enjoyed the meal both times however I fund the skill and entertainment from Tepanyaki chefs has been better at other venues. The restaurant us pretty small and they seem very keen for you to order if you are not going for the full experience.

The alcahol selection is ok.

In short it is a novel experience for reasonable value but not exceptional.

A friend recommended this restaurant to me, though she had the Teppenyaki experience and I chose a la carte (not being a fan of seafood this is a better option for me!)

The food was fresh, well presented and tasty, although when asked I requested my beef cooked well done & I'm almost certain I heard it moo... The main thing that bothered me were the overly attentive waitresses. We were asked at least 10 times by different staff if we were ready to order and this was before we'd even opened our menus!

Despite that it was a pleasant evening and it's always fun to watch the Teppenyaki chefs do their thing - especially from a safe distance!

I've been here twice, once for teppanyaki and another time for dishes off their a la carte menu. Their teppanyaki wasn't the best in terms of seasoning etc and wasn't as fun as other places I've been to. However their a la carte menu was a lot more tastier with a wider selection and less pricier in comparison to teppanyaki set menus. Definitely wouldn't mind bringing friends for the a la carte menu but will pass on teppanyaki.

Liked the golden woody decor. Food was lovely and of good quality. Tried some dishes I hadn't had before, such as the horenso (spinach with sesame sauce) which was really nice, and made the evening a bit more special. The prices are a bit up there, so perhaps not somewhere I'd go often, but good for an occasion.

Their service is amazing like most Japanese restaurants but the value...well its expensive like most Japanese restaurants. Quality of food is high end but again, theres not enough to be able to walk out feeling completely satisfied.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was packed. But even with it being pretty full, service was good. Took a while to get the food, but that was ok seeing how busy they were.

Food quality is pretty good. The noodles were good, the beef on rice and the sukiyaki was delicious, but the sushi's were pretty average. I would go again, but not bother with the sushi.

Went here with a Japanese colleague from work. My Japanese colleague was impressed with the food. Our relationship improved after this night and so have taken other satisfied Japanese clients here since. It always works a charm. A bit pricey, but it is wortt it.

Japanese food has always been my favorite. They offer authentic, natural dishes and the sashimi there is very fresh. Like all other Japanese restaurants, it is expensive.

I've been here several times and every time they have been consistently very good. It is a bit pricey to what I normally like to pay for dinner, but you can tell that they do use high quality ingredients, so if you like Japanese, it is worth it. I really enjoyed one of the banquets the first time I went, to sample various dishes. Then I worked out my favourites. I also love the warm Sake. To me, it marries beautifully with the food.

Pretty good food but a little pricey. I was here for a Teppanyaki dinner once and this was my second time visiting this restaurant. Food was very fresh and tasty, yet I was a little disappointed by the Tonkatsu. This place is easy to find, and staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing enough to have a long chat with a friend. Definitely recommend people to go there for a decent dinner.

Delicious food, beautiful venue, great service. The food here is well priced and very well done, it was all delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is fairly extensive, it has single dishes, banquets and the teppenyaki bar also. It was easy to book over the phone and is easy to locate inside the Century City Walk in Glen Waverley. The clientel were all very well behaved, despite the fact that there were a couple of young children there who would rather have been in bed. The parents managed to deal with their kids without making a scene and the staff were very accommodating. The wine menu is good and includes a few tasty reds and the hot saki went down well too. The staff are discreet but attentive and dressed in the traditional Japanese manner of the kimono. We ordered one of the banquets and the food was continuously served in a timely manner, always hot and plenty of it, to the point where I ran out of steam before I reached the end. The atmosphere is relaxing yet entertaining, if you happen to be seated where you have a glimpse of one of the teppanyaki chefs plying their trade. They are good at what they do, and very efficient. This was a place where I definitely enjoyed myself and wouldn't hesitate to recommend and come back to.
