Sparking Star detailed my newly purchased Triton. The detailer was meant to arrive at 2pm however turned up after 3pm after a couple of phone calls. By the time the job was finished it was dark and the car was in my garage.

Upon inspection the next day the job was terrible – wheels were still dirty, windows not clean, under and behind seats not vacuumed, air vents had grime on them, bugs still splatted all over the front bar just to name a few.

When I called the detailer to come back he gave me a time of 11am. Called him at 11.45 and was told that I needed to understand that he had customers (not sure what I was?) 11 am was a time given to me, not the other way around! I had taken a day to work from home so that the issue could be fixed.

When he finally arrived at 4.30pm there was lots of excuses and even though I showed him clearly what I was not happy with, most were not fixed even after the second pass. The final straw was when he was done and I showed him the back window was still filthy. “Mate, what is this a show car?” was the response, followed by “that’s as good as it gets”. Clearly hewas not interested in fixing anything and when he left I got out my own window cleaner and within one pass had the paper towel loaded with dirt!

I went down to the auto store, spent $100 on products and then started the job again. Worst $250 I’ve ever spent!

P.S. There are lots of things not included in the complete package such as cleaning the ute tray, rego sticker residue.
