Tess "Leather" low stools. These Tess Leather Low Stools (Early Settler) are *NOT* REAL leather.

I got some Tess Leather Low stools, I called 2 Early Settler stores and also talked to the online support to ask if the leather was real to which they read the website and the leather care at the base of the page.

Considering the detailed explanation of the Tess leather stools leather care instructions, you would assume it was ACTUAL leather. Wrong. It has to be BONDED LEATHER mixed with some kind of plastic agent.

We will be taking them back to Early Settler. Watch the video attached. The "leather" on these stools wouldnt last more than 6 months without cracks appearing.

Bonded leather is when they get all the scraps and offcuts, turn them into a mush, mux the mush with adhesive agents, then bond it to some kind of fabric backing. It cracks and peels off the backing. See the video attached. Real leather does not behave like what you see in the video.

We got them last night and only opened two, to see what they were like.

If you push on the leather with medium weight with your finger, it leaves permanent creases in the surface of the "leather". Leather is skin, it is flexible and stretches. We have multiple leather items in our house. Leather lounge, clothing etc.. none of them do this.

See the video attached.

I would call the description on the Early Settler website MISLEADING. There should be some kind of law about passing some fabricated material off as a natural leather.

Use this review as a guide... Avoid these Early Settler stools.

It is really sad that these companies (Like Early Settler) pass trash off as quality. They charge a restocking fee also which the price is 20%... A bit scammy I think. Should have a maximum of $50 for restocking, especially if it is an online purchase.

They didn't have these in store to look at beforehand also.. Probably because if anyone saw these Tess Leather Low Stools and touched them, they wouldnt sell.

The "leather" feels hard and dry already. All the chairs we have used for just two days look the same. There are two we havent really used and they obviously arent all creased yet.

Trash. I will not buy from Early Settler again.

Approximate cost: $1200

These guys don't pay their contractors. I've lost $87,000 because i worked for these dodgey builders. Their construction methods are cheap and nasty too. Stay away if you're either buying or asked to do work as a contractor.
