The reception and cafe are very well presented. The pool itself maintains a high standard of cleanliness. Standards of lessons are extremely high and the teachers have good communication with children. My young one went in unable to swim, now she can swim unaided.

Approximate cost: $18 per lesson

Peter was an absolute gem. Helpful and polite - two attributes that are very hard to come by. The value of Absolute Eyes is fair considering the high standards and rigorous nature of Darco's check up. Brownie points are also to be earned for Bulk Billing availability. Another pleasant, local business that I would recommend.

Approximate cost: $50 (For Glasses)

I absolutely love this Fish and Chippery. The chips are not greasy and the Fish not Fatty.
Potato cakes are wonderful and fluffy.
Owner always says 'Hi' When I go in.
Definitely recommended over some other similar establishments.

Approximate cost: $7-$12

Best breakfast in Bayside! Pretty good coffee, but mainly their eggs on toast is what brings me back! I don't know how they make something so simple so good, but they do!

This review is for Cafe 3193, Beaumaris VIC

I decided to try this restaurant out for dinner even though many people had told me it was only average. On arriving we ordered a good bottle of wine only to be advised later that this one was not available and I would have expected the waitress to know this at the time of ordering.
Following this we ordered two entrees to share, one of these being scallops, however five minutes later we are advised there are no scallops availably and would we like prawns in place of this. The prawns arrived in some form of runny sauce that was only average.
My wifes flathead tails where OK while I opted for the calamari rings. I really think the days of serving large fried calamari rings is over and whilst they where not stringy they did not present very well at all.
We found the place a little cold with ne real ambiance at all.
Maybe this is the place for a coffee or a drink only.

This review is for Malt, Beaumaris VIC

I hear a lot of mixed reviews about malt. Apparently it's changed owners a number of times and has been in steady decline. This is about the 20th time I've been here and so far my experiences have been good ones.

Presentation

So lovely I decided to make it my blog masthead. Everything looks like it's been placed with care and consideration, rather than just plonked down, and I appreciate that.

Toast

I'm not a great lover of sourdough toast, so ciabatta is always a nice surprise. This one is apparently sourced from the fruit and veg shop down the road and is light and chewy, as it should be. Kudos to the chef for the toasting, as opposed to the burning. Seriously, lately I've had to take a hand saw with me to breakfast just to get through all the ruddy organic, burnt toast.

Hashbrowns

They're store-bought, but if you can forgive them that you'll find they're flavoursome and much better than McDonalds. And I got two huge ones for $3, so I did a small dance.

Avocado

Yep, delicious and plentiful. I had enough avocado to cover both slices of toast, and the consistency was just right. I'm a bit of an avocado critic and have been known to spend actual days and nights at the supermarket, choosing the perfect piece of fruit, so I'm always excited when someone else does it well on my behalf.

Smoked salmon

Standard Tasmanian fare, but fresh and plenty of it. I couldn't finish the massive serving.

Eggs

Glossy and cooked just right and with deep yellow yolks. They were a little on the small side, but then so much of Beaumaris is. A little splash of cracked pepper finished these eggs off perfectly. I ate them. They were good.

Approximate cost: $18
