What Jarlath did for me is an odd job: to divide a rotten box into two halves, with one side for storage, the other side for tiling and the middle with structural wood for installing a shower screen. I am pleased to say that Jarlath did a fantastic job for me and he is indeed an excellent tradesman. On top of that, he honoured his promise to finish the job on a timely manner.

I used this company to install a new valley, rebed roof and flexible point all of caps and valley in September 2015. John did the communication by mobile phone and he came to my house to check the roof at my absence. The quote was reasonable and John seems to be a down-to-earth person so I gave the job to him. His brother Jeff did all the physical work and so far, I did not see any problems so I am happy to recommend the company.

I used this company in 2009 to replace my kitchen. Except the work was not completed on time as promised, everything else seems fine. One of my drawers had a crack recently and it was within the 7 year guarantee, so I took the drawer to the company and the company honoured its guarantee.

I contacted the management for Changing Group (AUST) Pty Ltd (CAN: 131 862 694), because my garage roof looked perfect but after each heavy rain, it would leak. My first conversation with the person was very pleasant and he sounded like he knew everything about roofing. I did not find out that he does not know basic trigonometry at all (ask him a few basic trigonometry questions to see his responses) until the new roof he put on also leaked.

On 15 January 2016, he suggested to replace the garage roof and quoted me “Trimdeck roofing” which requires roof pitch of at least 2 degrees. I measured my garage roof and the maximum pitch of my garage was a lot less than 2 degrees so I called him about my concerns on 16 January 2016. Despite my repeated concerns, he assured me that the new roof will “not leak one drop of water'' and it carries a “10 year guarantee on workmanship”. He was so convincing that I hesitantly agreed to use the Trimdeck. In the morning of 19 January 2016, I sent a text to him again raising my concerns regarding the roof pitch again and he called me immediately at 7am and agreed to use Klip-Lok roofing which requires only 1 degree roof pitch. The roof was replaced on 28 January 2016 at my absence and he forgot his promise and used “Trimdeck roofing” instead.

On 30 January 2016, the new roof leaked, I video-taped the leaking roof and informed the same person immediately, but contrary to his promise, he did not turn up until 20 February 2016 after my repeated calls. After inspecting my roof, he declared that the “roof is not leaking” but “the wall leaks”. As experienced by other customers, when problems happen, the management becomes very rude and unpleasant, and the conversation with him becomes mission impossible. As my wall is perfectly vertical, he does not know that his claim is against Newton’s law of gravitation. Although he raised the roof pitch a bit, it is now still only 1.5 degrees and he refuses to admit his mistakes and he refuses to replace the roof with Klip-Lok roofing so I took him and the Changing Group (AUST) Pty Ltd to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). The hearing was on 31 August 2016 and the VCAT ordered the Changing Group (AUST) Pty Ltd to pay me all of the costs including the application fee of $174.10. So far, the management and Changing Group (AUST) Pty Ltd used my old flashings but charged me for new flashings (I did not discover this issue until I went to the roof to explain the leaking problem to them on 24 February, nearly one month after my payment for the work on 28 January 2016 through a bank transfer according to his instruction), have not provided me a receipt (despite my repeated requests)  and ignored the VCAT order.
