This Coles is a converted Bi-Lo and it shows. The aisles are a bit narrower, and there is no bakery or alchohol. The product range is narrower than your typical Coles, probably due to lack of shelf space - for example they don't even stock Nappysacks. But service is quick so it's good to pick up a few items after work.

This is a good Coles in that it has alcohol and bakery as well as the usual Deli, produce and meat. The aisles are wide and there is always trolleys available. Main problem is that the checkout queues are woeful, and the self-checkout is hopeless.

I have mainly ordered pizza from Ace's. Most of time the pizzas are good, with decent toppings and flavour - certainly the best in the suburb. However about 1 in 6 are dry and lacking in tomato sauce. On the plus side, they take credit card and cook within 10-15 mins even in peak times. On the negative they don't deliver and you often have to wait a while to get someone to take your order or assist your pickup.

Approximate cost: $12

Telex Pizza is an East Bentleigh institution. The pizzas are cooked properly, with a good balance between base and toppings. They are rarely soggy, and always tasty.

Approximate cost: $10
