They are the most expensive pet store in town by far. I would never buy from them without checking around for pricing elsewhere first having once paid $60 for an item that I found for $20 in another store half an hour later - identical brand, identical product.
Every once in a while they have member only events which can be worth attending - make sure you know what items you want in advance and make sure that with the 10-20% member discount you are getting a good deal as you may still find the same item cheaper elsewhere even after the discount has been applied.
I've waited for 20 minutes to be served when I've needed to make a small purchase of $10 on pigs ears, been completely ignored when I needed to buy an airline carrier for my dog, but jumped on by sales assistants within 30 seconds every time I've been standing near to the puppy cages and asked which one I want. If I've asked about the background and breeding of the puppies or kittens my questions have been overlooked so I have decided not to acquire pets from them and chosen instead to rescue.
I bought an airline carrier from them for around $140 based on their recommendations of what was up to airline regulations for a dog up to 10kg. Needless to say the carrier turned out not to be up to airline regs and broke on its first trip over East putting my dog at considerable risk. I bought a replacement directly from the airline for $80 and that's managed three trips so far and remains as good as new.
When I returned the original carrier to Southwest pets for a refund having been sold an item that was falsely described I was told that the item could not be refunded as it had been used and been damaged. I may as well have burnt $140 thanks to their bad advice and shoddy product which ended up being thrown in the bin.
Bad advice - overpriced products. Oh - and check out the dust, dirt and grime on some of the bird cages they have for sale in the back room and the products stored on the higher shelves - some of the stock is absolutely filthy dirty - and they will sell it to you like that!
There are far superior places to shop for pet products in town.

This review is for PETstock, Bunbury WA

We have a small menagerie at home and get most of our pet supplies from Petstock. The staff really do know their stuff. They are always friendly and very helpful.
Highly recommend joining the rewards program and subscribing to the member email which keeps you in the loop of their sales and special offers which often present amazing value for money.
I have been to Petstock to stock up on supplies and the staff have even gone so far as to let me know that there's a big sale on its way of whichever item I need to buy - that way I can get enough of whatever it is to tide me over until the sale and then stock up in bulk saving heaps of cash. How many stores do that?
Huge range for cats, dogs, fish, birds, rabbits etc. Much better value than anywhere else in town plus they don't sell kittens and puppies which is a welcome relief. Instead they have links with local animal rescue groups and actively promote rescue.
Value for money - great range - helpful staff and ethical. Fantastic.
Keep up the good work.

This review is for Forrest Avenue Dental Centre, Bunbury WA

What an excellent dental practice this is. I'd seen the same dentist for 27 years until I moved to Bunbury and had to find another one. That was a daunting task! Having been told by three dentists that were recommended by friends that they were not accepting new patients I called Forrest Ave - had an appointment booked the same day.
I've had three wisdom teeth removed by them, a couple of fillings and now go once every six months for check ups. The dentists and dental nurses are friendly & efficient, prices are reasonable and I found them to be very understanding with my new dentist nerves.
The only thing to watch out for is the reception staff some of whom can be rather abrupt - mostly due to how busy they are I expect but no matter how busy you are you should always manage a friendly face :)
I've recommended Forrest Ave to a couple of people now and each time I get a thank you card in the post for the referral. How nice is that?
Highly recommended.

This review is for Dome Cafe, Bunbury WA

Great location - love it - though parking is a major issue round that part of town. Service is always prompt though regularly receive food before drinks which isn't ideal.
Watch out if you order caesar salads as Dome Bunbury regularly serves this item without the bread that it is advertised with as a cost cutting exercise for themselves. If you do order the caesar and it comes without bread make sure you request it.
We've often found that in that last hour on quieter evenings the staff clear up around you - going to the extent of putting the chairs on top of tables and mopping the floor around you. Really that could wait surely until the place is empty as it does make you feel very rushed to finish your food/coffee and get out even though there's still 1/2 hour til they close.
As a rule though the standard of food is good. Being a Dome you know what you're going to get and you know that it's well priced. Not the best Dome around but at least we've got one.

Exceptional jewelers. The quality and range of their products is amazing. The staff are knowledgeable and offer great advice. The Pandora range is lovely and very varied. Popping in to see Mazin is always my first choice for jewelry in town.

This review is for Casellas, Bunbury WA

When Casellas first opened we made a point of trying it out. Being big fans of tapas it was rather a thrill to have the option made available in Bunbury! More restaurants have since followed suit but Casellas is the only place for real tapas.
The service has always been second to none and we were huge fans of the food so we became regular diners. Until a few months back when we booked way in advance for a special occasion and arrived to be seated next to a huge party of drunken youths in the back room. Not impressed. Having been presented with menus and informed of the nights specials we placed our orders only to be told that neither of the meals we wanted were available that night. Items that are not available should be explained upon presentation of menus.
So we ordered tapas. Having waited for a very long time it was finally brought to us only for us to discover that one of the dishes was stone cold and another 2 only lukewarm. We mentioned this to our waitress who rather than take the dishes away for a replacement walked off and returned about 10 minutes later explaining that sous chef hadn't reheated the dishes long enough... Until that point we didn't mind the prices. But those prices for microwaved food? That's disappointing.
Were we provided with an apology? Yes. Were we provided with a replacement? No. Were we charged full price for a meal that was inedible? Yes. Did we stick around for dessert and coffee? No.
Have we been back? No - we don't really want to risk it!

This review is for L'Amour De La Femme Restaurante, Bunbury WA

The food at L'Amour De La Femme is without doubt the best in Bunbury. It's on a par with fine dining in London & Paris. Many people say that it's too expensive but for the quality & presentation it's actually unbelievably good value for money.
However that failing of this restaurant is the service. We've been a few times because we love the food but each time we are let down by the wait staff. Last time it was 40 minutes before we were even presented with a menu despite having asked 3 times. Nor were we provided with a wine list so that 40 minutes was spent seated at a table with nothing more than a bottle of water.
Is the food worth it? Well - we wouldn't go back if it weren't!

This review is for Bunbury Auto Group - Bunbury Mitsubishi, Bunbury WA

We've bought 2 cars from the the team at Bunbury Auto Group and get them both serviced there too. Unlike most previous car buying experiences, we've found the team here to be very honest. They tell you exactly how it is and will offer honest, genuine advice. It's actually very refreshing.
They have a great range now that they have so many brands so we know that we certainly wouldn't need to look elsewhere in town to find the right car for us.
The service department is also excellent. Every time either of our cars goes in for a service or to get some work done it's returned to us driving better than ever and clean too!
Why would you look anywhere else?!

This review is for Eaton Vet Clinic, Eaton WA

verified email - 25 Sep 2010

Mike and the team have been taking care of our cats and dogs for several years. In many years of pet ownership I have never found such an excellent vet clinic. Were it not for Eaton Animal Health Centre one of my 2 beloved cats would not be around today.
We've been to puppy school there, our animals have all their vaccinations there, the staff have been on hand whenever one of the animals has found themselves in trouble at the drop of a hat. This is a business that oozes professionalism and excellent customer service and balances that with the kind of care one hopes for from a business that takes care of your pets.
Honestly - I would not go anywhere else.

This review is for Brooke Fiore For Hair & Beauty, Bunbury WA

The team at Brooke Fiore are second to none. Creative flair, amazing customer service and ultra-friendly. Gone are my days of visiting a hair salon and specifying what I want doing - at Brooke Fiore you can just sit in the chair and let them do what they believe is going to suit you best. In 5 years I've walked out very happy every time.
I had the team supply their services for my wedding and the results were quite honestly breathtaking. Well done Brooke and the team. Love your work!
Just make sure you get to spend plenty of time in one of the massage chairs at the basin :)
