I've been to this little shop so many times that I can practically memorize exactly what they sell off the top of my head. On one section, you would find a large assortment of asian style pens, pencils, pacers, and general stationary; while the other half of the store is dedicated to random accessories such as plush toys, mugs, knitwear, and other gadgets and devices. The fun part of it all is that everything looks so ASIAN! Which is why i would recommend all of us Asians to visit, because im sure you'll all find something to buy from here! Pricewise, everything is not so expensive. However, some products may not be as high in quality as something you might purchase in a more formal store. They even have a sticker-photo machine in the back for only $10!

This review is for KingPin Bowling, Sydney NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2010

In the heart of Sydney's Darling Harbour, Kingpin blowling lounge boasts some really awesomely lit, modern facilities. It's usually quite packed with kids and families, but while you're waiting for your game of bowling, there are many other activities to do such as the numerous arcades lined up, or you could go to the laser skirmish centre (M9 - see my other reviews) while you're at it. The service there is great, with some great packages and options to choose to buy if you're with your family or a large group of friends. The facility is dimly lit, but with loud arcade music in the background and neon lights flashing here and there. It's sometimes even nice to just sit there and enjoy a drink or two from the bar.

Approximate cost: $15 per game

This review is for M9 Laser Skirmish, Sydney NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2010

M9 Laser Skirmish is more expensive, more fun, more exciting, and better quality than the average Laser tag facility. The entire battleground is a maze filled with doors, walls, and various other obstacles. There is also fake smoke and flashing lights that make the dark scene interesting. The phasers they provide also shoot solid beams, which are way better to look at than simply red dots on your opponent's body. They also give you a nice light-up body vest which flashes brightly to signal that you've been hit. The game only lasts around 20 minutes though, so the price could be a bit higher than you'd expect for a game.

Approximate cost: $12 dollars per session

This definately beats your Gloria Jeans, Starbucks, Michelle's Patisserie morning coffees. Im not so sure about their cakes and desserts, which seem slightly on the expensive side, but their hot chocolates and latte's are just amazing. They also make sure that your drink is the perfect temperature for drinking - not the boiling hot levels that the conventional cafes serve them at. The prices are roughly the same as what you'd expect to pay at somewhere like Gloria Jeans though, so its just a matter of better taste and value.

Approximate cost: $4.00 a regular drink

It's just another one of those simple take-away places right? So you think. Let's see. At the same foodcourt, you could try McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Hungry Jacks, etc etc.. Why would you go to some random taco/salad shop? The VALUE is great. Where you can spend anywhere from $7 to $12 dollars for your average greasy chips, burger, chicken, whatever... You could spend around that much for a more healthy, filling, 'different' alternative. They cook their food well, they serve large wholesome portions, and they're quite inexpensive. Try it next time you're in Parramatta shopping for stuff.

This review is for Poporo, Haymarket NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2010

Conveniently located, Poporo offers a nice selection of asian style dishes that suit the tastebuds of many who enjoy the simple japanese taste. The service is quite different though. Instead of sitty down and having a waiter/waitress come and help you take an order, you walk in and order electronically through a touchscreen moniter near the entrance. The food is well prepared, and the prices are decent. The drinks may be a little expensive, but the taste compensates. Definately recommended!

This review is for Show Karaoke, Sydney NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2010

Ok, there are a few ups and downs for this relatively smaller and unknown karaoke bar. For the positives; it's much cheaper than the other popular bars in Sydney city (around $20 per room per hour - but shared among up to 6 people), and it has thousands of the most popular asian songs. However, it is a disappointment to know that the rooms are quite small and not all that clean. The songs are not electronically listed, so you have to go through large, tattered volumes just to find the song you like. Also, not many popular english songs are listed. The sound quality from the machine isn't all that great either. Nevertheless, if you and a bunch of friends want a cheaper alternative to the likes of Greenbox, Mizuya etc... its a good choice overall.

This review is for Goodgames, Burwood NSW

Goodgames Burwood offers a large collection of the most popular gam es, including Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, and Warhammer. They regularly host open public tournaments and always have the latest sets, games, and concepts from every game they run. As far as I know, i have never failed to find a specific card from Magic the Gathering from their store. Also, they provide a large gaming area with nice tables and chairs so you can enjoy the gaming experience with your mates or school friends. The singles are well priced too.

Personally the best hairdresser/stylist i've ever been to. The people here treat your hair like its the only thing that matters, and really do take the time to manage it well. You can call this a downside, but i actually find it a good thing that the stylists take alot of time with your hair (i'm a male with relatively long hair and it usually takes about an hour to style and cut it well). The cost may be a bit more expensive for your usual haircut, but the finished look is very much worth the price!

This review is for U10 Internet Cafe, Parramatta NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2010

For the average internet cafe user, U10 would be one of the best you can get. For a meager $3.00 an hour (only $2.50 for members), the quality of the cafe is very nice. The seats are all high-backed and comfortable, and the computer are fast, quiet, and the screens are large and of great quality image. U10 provides a very expansive range of games both via LAN networking as well as online ones. The internet service is also smooth and reliable. Above all, its a clean and safe environment, not to mention good value!
