I rang this Vet as to how much it would cost to have a 7 month old puppy spayed and the price was quoted at $285, we accepted this price because we are only aged pensioners, when my partner was dropping off our puppy the Vet told her that he had to have a blood test before surgery to make sure his liver and kidneys could handle the anesthetic.
My partner was very frightened and agreed to the test and then was told it would cost a further $180 making the total for the service $465. The problem is that I had rang three Vets to get a price and decided on them as all the prices were similar.
After ringing the two others that quoted they both gave me the same answer and that is that they only do the test to dogs over seven years of age and that puppies have tests if they have other problems.
I told the Vet when we picked up the puppy that I was not very pleased that she did not quote that price when I got the original quote and her answer was that she asked my partner if she wanted it done, as my partner was already emotional about what was going to be done that she thought it was normal and agreed.
I think this Vet preyed on my partners vulnerability at the time and at no time said that the blood test was optional so over their greed we will not ever be returning to this Clinic and I would advise others to get a firm quote if using this clinic...

Approximate cost: $465
