This review is for Flame Trees Burger Bar, Bayswater VIC

Only 2 months since it opened, it's Bayswaters brand new burger bar. By far the hippest little place on the Bayswater strip, they've definitely done well with the space. Unfortunately, my morning sickness was not being kind to me and I couldnt stomach ordering a burger. I only ordered chips, a soda and two ice creams to go. Did I mention they stock Pats homemade ice cream sandwiches? Seriously the most delicious ice creams around! I'm looking forward to getting back to try a burger once my stomach settles.

This review is for Abacus All Day, Ringwood VIC

Brand new to Town Square, Abacus was a much needed addition. I've eaten here twice in the last week's since it opened. I was pleasantly surprised both times. The restaurant itself is beautiful. With high roof, it feels incredibly open and is perfectly styled. The food is fresh and vibrant. I had the mushroom dish last time and it was unbelievable. I'm so glad to have them local.

I love everything about Burnham Beeches. The site is picturesque. Chickens roam the property, darting between the seating in the outdoor area, Alpacas, pigs, rabbits and emus happily wander the grounds, greeting guests. But, most importantly the food is absolutely delicious. The prices have risen slightly and its no longer as good value as it once was. Very worth a visit, and we do so weekly with our kids in tow.

This review is for Golden Duck by Secret Kitchen, Ringwood VIC

11 Jan 2018

Golden Duck is a reasonably good Chinese restaurant, but the serving sizes are far too small for the price. The flavours are good, although the xiao long bao (our favourite dish) often comes out with very little soup in the dumpling. It's a shame the portion sizes have shrunk as it really is a lovely restaurant with great attentive service. It's just too expensive for what it is.

This is one of my families favourite local restaurants. Not a place for vegans. It's all about beautiful quality and fabulously cooked meat. The meat platters are incredible and the service repetitively spot on. I'd highly recommend. Its located in the middle section of Town Square, on the David Jones/realm side.

This review is for Brioche by Phillip, Ringwood VIC

This is my families go to take-away breakfast stop. Their coffee is spot on and their baked goods are delicious. We'd routinely grab a ham croisant and a cronut. They have lots of options though. Please note this isnt a cheap bakery and the prices are on the higher side. The quality is up there too, though.

This review is for On Nom Dessert Bar, Melbourne VIC

11 Jan 2018

I've dined here several times in the last few years. I celebrated my anniversary here two years in a row and my 30th birthday this year, dragging my two young children with me for lunch. Its a small bar style restaurant above the acclaimed Ezard and connected to a hotel reception. The decor is glamorous and well styled in deep reds and shine. Our last visit was during the day. Unfortunately we discovered the cocktails are only available in the evening. They are pretty special so I'd recommend an evening visit if you are interested in the theatrics of fabulous beverages. Think smoking cocktails, ones that fizz and pop in your mouth. The works! The food is pretty good here, but the desserts are the stand out. Think cigar boxes with edible chocolate cigars, a perfect Apple, an apothecary jar with an edible aquarium inside. It really is a must visit in Melbourne's dining.

This review is for The Hatter and the Hare, Bayswater VIC

11 Jan 2018

Absolutely everything about this place is magnificent! Inside, the decor is styled to resemble wonderland. Their menu includes wonderland themed meals and the most incredible selection of delicious desserts. When I say incredible, i mean it. There must be 50 different desserts in the display cases. There are variations for all forms of dietary requirements. Lots of gluten free and vegan options. I havent had anything here I don't like as yet. I have to mention though that the chicken burger may just be the best i've ever had. I cannot recommend the Hatter and the Hare enough. Just fabulous!
