I have been frequenting Cafe Safron in Ivanhoe for many years, and will continue to do so. They provide excellent take away and dine-in fare, and the service for both is excellent. Bookings for dining-in are mostly essential for all but an early sitting, which is testament to it's popularity. Good quality Indian food and reasonable prices.

Fish is excellent! Not too oily, and the three varieties of fish I've tried are fresh and taste great (yes, they actually have taste, unlike many other fish 'n' chip shops!) The potato cakes are also great and the sweet potato shavings were a great touch. I found the servings quite generous. A family-pack certainly beat my family of four. Price is higher than average, but then I felt the quality and service matched this.
